For the first year I lived here I had the greatest manager. John is great. Patti, has really grown on me. Nothing is ever her fault. She gets things done and handles the community well. I absolutely hate the new app. They don't report to credit bureaus anymore. They did when I moved here. Now their rental app charges you fees no matter which way you pay. So they've added on to your rent, they just act like it's a fee. Unless you pay by check (who on earth besides 80 years olds have checks anymore) you can't pay rent without a charge. Debit/credit card $25 fee. Checking account $2.49 fee. Money order minimum $1 fee. There is absolutely no free way to pay rent anymore

I lived at Albany Apartments in Mesa AZ for 2 years, in 2 different apartments because of a rental increase that I couldn't afford and quite frankly felt this place wasn't worth it. In my first apartment I requested many many times for repairs to be done. 7 months later I finally got them done, one of them being a screen door for the Arcadia door. I finally got that in July when it was too hot to open the door but I paid my full rent every month. When my lease was up I moved to a smaller apartment hoping for the best. It turned out to be the same thing. I had to leave the state for a family emergency. 10 months into my lease the repairs that I had been asking for since day one were finally done while I was gone. Again I paid my full rent every month! I came back at the end of my lease to move out, leaving behind a king size mattress and box springs. The management said a walk thru was not necessary so I didn't do one. When I received my refund deposit, I was charged $200.00 for removal. I called the management office and just like in the past nothing happened. I am so sorry I ever rented here and felt like it was a complete waste of my money! I will never recommend this place! Don't rent here if you want any repairs done because it doesn't happen!

The complex I live at is managed by this company. I have had a number of issues with my apartment, including mold (that they refuse to do anything about, when I sought outside assistance they told the mold company they could not come), water that smells like rotten eggs, roaches, 2 attempted break ins by another tenants family member that is here all the time despite the lease stating that adults not on the lease should not be staying for extended periods of time (the manager knows this man, and knew he tried to break in, and did nothing about it). The manager of this complex is also incredibly rude and unhelpful. He ignores calls and emails and maintenance request. It has gotten to a point where myself and my roommate are experiencing migraines and nausea while in the apartment, which I would assume is due to the mold. I have reached out to Northstar multiple times, but if you don't have a direct extension you just get sent to a voicemail box, where I have left messages that have gone unreturned, I have also sent an email via their contact us form. I reached out to the manager for a direct contact and was once again ignored. After doing some apartment hunting, since my lease is almost up. I realized that the amount they are charging me for what I'm getting is absolutely insane (this is the first complex I've lived in since moving to AZ, and I moved in mostly out of desperation and urgency). They also trapped me into staying an extra month and paying even higher rent for that last month because I sent in my notice to vacate a day late (mind you both days were on a weekend so no one was there to see it anyway). They require 60 day notice to vacate, which is uncommon, normally it is 30 days, and if you submit it even a day late they will force you to stay a full extra month instead of just charging you for the extra day. They're slum lords and incredibly predatory, I would not ever live at another one of their properties.
