My husband spent a little over three weeks at the Tucson, AZ State Vet Home to rehab after a severe case of pneumonia. All staff members were amazing and were very committed to providing my husband excellent care. My mom and mother-in-law were both cared for in similar private (very expensive!!) facilities. The care they received was nowhere near as good as that provided by the Tucson AZ State Vet Home. I commend the home for their outstanding staff and thank them so very much for all they did for my husband and our family. He is now doing well at home and I attribute much of his progress to the care he received at this facility. If I could rate them 10 stars, I would!

500 wing is in need of routine cleaning maintenance of outdoor smoking areas!! Buds, leaves, seeds and dead insects abound on the walk ways and sitting areas. Cleaning by borrowed brooms from staff is the only maintenance this outdoor patient retreat is cleaned on a twice per week event. The consequences are: tracker in fallen tree blossoms, pollen, seed pods and tree leaves. The result??? Yellow tree blossoms abound hiding enormous amounts of Palo Verde tree buds, and leaves and copious amounts of seeds and pollen. lm common areas, lounge and eating areas and of SIGNIFICANT importance, Private patient rooms abound with leaves, buds, seeds and pollen collection on furniture, floors, clothing, footwear and WORST of all individual bedding! Stay away! They will drug warehouse and kill your loved one! Unprofessional. So bad their social worker Lettica Mills is not licensed. Also if you need a notary think twice! Their volunteer had dementia. Run from the place fast!
