2024-01-25. We have recently updated our satellite TV system. There are 218 Direct TV channels including 8 Showtime channels, ESPN Tucson's local channels. We are also close to downtown and The Gem shows. 2020-11-11. Don't know where my previous review went. We work all day to make a place to have a good night rest. Any negative complaints have been made by users of drugs that bring in trafficking. And then we have to remove them for the safety of others. That is why they write a negative review., and they bring their own BUGS that we have to deal with. We do, damn it. For all that room here. We are making improvements all the time. So, come and stay and have a good nights sleep.

Considering the location within town being about in the middle when it comes to distance to local hot spots and events and taking into account it is not one of the better parts of town (night time mostly), this is arguably one of the better hotels for a tight budget. The self contained "U"-shape lot style helps enclose it off from the local degenerates, forcing them to walk in the path of the countless cameras facing the entry/exit, so I would call this a safer place that is almost always quiet at night, minus a few late night conversations outside, usually kept quiet and short as to not bug anybody. I say safe considering the design. It's in a "U" shape and the building surround it with no walkways (except properly labeled emergency only) leading in or out. Entry/exit for vehicles and pedestrian are exclusively on the 6th st side, and as i mentioned, there are a considerable numbers of cameras facing that area. They even have a sign letting law enforcement know they are allowed to perform their duties without staff interruption and can arrest anybody they need to. These rooms are old. This is an old building. Some of the other reviews are not noticing that. It has newer wall climate units, old school CRT (tube) TVs, and while the rooms are far from perfect, it's obvious they put in as much effort as they could. Budget hotel = budget renovations. You use what you can get and make it work, and so they did. Everything works. Lights, water, fridge, microwave, etc, just fine for the age. (My shower had a 90 inline valve by the head and turning the water on wasn't enough and that valve is probably the best idea I've ever seen. If you open it all the way, it has enough force to shame a fire truck and i thought it was going to push itself through the wall lol. About 1/3 to 1/2 was absolutely perfect...and i love super high pressure shower heads) So pros: Location - not the best part of town and pretty much anybody will leave you alone. It's the u-sjape lot design teamed up with really high quality cameras that make it safe. Price - I paid $75, got a pretty large room (#124), and was peaceful and clean (again, please consider this building is almost old enough to be caller 'Archaic,' so base your judgement with that fact as a starting point) Cons - parking for vehicles with trailers of any kind, even empty car dollies. The lot design sacrifices large vehicle parking for naturally occurring patron/property safety as a result, but there are a couple empty lots not far and one of them lots gets used by an auto shop a lot and that shop has bright lights and cameras on that lot and never had any issues as a result. Deposit - sounds silly, but they were pretty firm on their standing of a $5 cash deposit which gets returned upon checkout, which made me have to go to the circle k 2 blocks away and get cash back on a purchase. Not a major con. More like an unknown factor, so I'll save you the trouble and just let you know to have $5 cash on hand at least, even if paying by card. Arguable privacy + again, old building. Add budget tile floors to that mix and you're in a sound amplifier. Dropped a pen sounded like a bb gun firing. Older buildings don't always have newer walls, so things like the shower or toilet flushing in the next room can be heard, but that about it.

Thank you for your 5 star review. We also appreciate your taxi friend who reminded you that you weren’t double charged, it was your misunderstanding and the police force that came to check you out. The truth always wins!
