        Just got back from the spring Camporee here. It had been about 20 years since my last trip here, and it was just as wonderful now as it was then, although definitely showing its age. Tons of memories here, and it has served its purpose. It used to be pretty secluded from civilization, and a lot quieter. With all of the new housing developments and massive population growth around it, its not as much of the desert sanctuary it used to be.

        Love the chance to work with the scouts. This is a great location for desert camping. Remember to plan for the environment and it is very nice.

        Anyone can rent the camp, not just BSA Scout units. I highly recommend it for anyone learning to camp or who has little kids, but it is great for everyone. Civilization is not too far away, but you feel a hundred years in the past as the coyotes howl and roadrunners skitter along the path. There is a pool that can be rented for day use, a BMX course, and other more traditional camp amenities. The camp even has flush toilets!
