DEA Remodeling Kitchens and Closets, aka Kitchens and Closets by DEA, secured a significant deposit from me for proposed contracting work. They have completed minimal work and incomplete products for one hundred days plus.New reviews posted after my deposit indicated significant cause for concern. I followed up and attempted to resolve the concerns directly with the Principal of DEA Remodeling Kitchens and Closets, Mr. Eric Marshall, without success. Mr. Marshall has removed all mention of his business on Facebook and other sites.A complaint has been made to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. I believe that a minimum of three complaints have been submitted for investigation, one of which has been referred to the ROC Legal department. I suspect the resolution of this will be a long process. Do your research – avoid business with this company.

On a personal, one-on-one level, the folks (owners) and staff from DEA Remodeling were always kind, amiable, and respectful. However, what I typically least appreciate from businesses is when they're not responsive, when I feel ignored and as if I've been taken advantage of...that once they have my money, as so many others have mentioned, I'm dead to them. This has been the overarching theme from DEA Remodeling, especially once I paid my balance in full. Months later, they have yet to complete the work and continue to be unresponsive, and in at least a couple of cases when someone did respond, it was to brush us off and to say "that's not my area, you need to talk to someone else." I strongly recommend, without any reservation whatsoever, that consumers avoid DEA remodeling.

Still waiting for a job to be completed that is 5 months past given completion date. Still missing tub, cabinets and closet shelving. He took the money and quit answering the phone so I hired an attorney and filed with the ROC. Save yourself from a nightmare!

I hired DEA in December to update 3 bathrooms and remodel a closet. Eric told us he would not start the job until all products were in because he wanted us to move out while the job was being done. We were quoted 6-8 weeks for completion. In early February he called and said everything was in and they would start demo on Feb 15 so we moved out. The demo was done in 2 days so we were off to a great start! Although the contract said 50% down ($40,000) and remainder at installation, he called and said he needed 25% more. I argued with him but got nowhere. He said he would not do another thing without another $20,000. Since my home was now unlivable, I gave him another $20,000. The flooring contractor eventually came and installed flooring. 20% of it is chipped but there were not enough tiles to fix the damaged ones. The painter painted over wallpaper instead of removing it. We are still waiting on bathroom cabinets, countertops, and bathtubs. He will not return our phone calls or even respond to a text. Our project manager is great but there is nothing he can do without product or contracters. We are now 4 months into this mess. Attorney next?
