I'm extremely disappointed in this facility, Palms Christian preschool/Above and Beyond preschool in Surprise AZ, that claims to pride themselves on being a quality Christian preschool. Per the online classroom video camera, I witnessed the teacher Miss Ebony slap a 3 year old child and very aggressively handle her. I was very disturbed by this, and it prompted me to search for other reviews and I was disgusted to read other reviews claiming physical abuse. When I reported the incident to the director, I personally felt that I was treated differently by staff and the secretary defended the teacher's actions. I thought the director would have contacted me, a concerned parent, after reviewing the classroom video footage, but she did not follow up with me at all. I would not recommend this school, nor would I feel comfortable with my children attending, which is why I immediately pulled them out of this school.

If you have a perfectly behaved, church attending child who can learn even with 30 kids in the classroom and a myriad of floating aides and no consistency or structure, send your kid here. If you have a child who needs more attention or who has any kind of special need, don't send them here. They will tell you they can handle it during the tour but they can't. The staff has no clue how to diffuse difficult situations and routinely escalates them. Staff is very obvious about which kids they like and the ones they don't. Parents can watch cameras in their kids classroom through an app at all times, so be prepared for complete strangers to be able to see what your child does at school (which they will not ask you if you are ok with that). My children have been 100x happier since leaving this school and going to a new preschool. They have had zero incident reports and only positive teacher comments at the new school. Having my child ask to stay a little longer when I go pickup, because they're having fun and love being at their new school, tells me Above & Beyond preschool was the worst decision I ever made when it came to school choice.

I am very surprised that this "Christian" establishment is still in business. After the extreme nepotism shown by its head pastor that drove a lot of the parishioners, and most of the families of students attending the school away. I am surprised this church hasn't gone into bankruptcy. We individuals closest to the situation raised our eyebrows and knew their was much more going on behind the scenes when the tables were flipped on us. Now the church has conveniently changed it's name and multiple grades are "blended" because they don't have a high enough student to teacher ratio. It it unfortunate that a 24 year old boy with a business degree and no educational background took over a school.

All the teachers we have had have been great to our daughter and she enjoys going daily. What more can a parent ask for then to have child that likes going to school/daycare and feels comfortable and safe with everyone.

PLEASE Do not send your children tot this abuse asylum! My sweet 3 year old cried every night and every morning saying he didn't like his school. I thought he just wanted to be home. The final straw was when he told me he didn't get a snack because he wet the bed during nap time...this same day I pick him up and the inexperienced teens they hire to watch them were SCREAMING at my son. I pulled him out that day. A little time wenr by and my son started talking more. He told me that Miss Ebony spanked him and said she would put him in the baby room if he wet the bed and his mommy would never find him again. REALLY!? Every time we drive by this school my son cries and says how much he loves his new school. This place should be shut down. I am so sad for the kids still being abused here. They are being tortured! This church and school now has a new name as well.....CROSS (was palms baptist)
