Having stayed at El Portal Hotel in Sedona, Arizona twice, I can affirm that it's a luxurious and intimate inn that stands out for its unique charm and strategic location. Nestled right next to the Tlaquepaque arts and shopping district, El Portal offers an exceptional retreat with about a dozen rooms, each boasting its distinct personality and design. The hotel's architecture and decor pay homage to the Arts & Crafts movement, featuring adobe construction with 18-inch thick walls that not only ensure peace and quiet but also carry the whispers of history. The central courtyard is a gathering hub where guests can enjoy the warmth of a fire pit in the evenings or indulge in a la carte breakfast options in the morning. Despite its proximity to the bustling areas of Sedona, including a short walk to downtown and numerous art galleries, El Portal remains a secluded oasis offering privacy and tranquility.El Portals rooms vary in amenities; some feature balconies or patios, fireplaces, and even spa baths in select units. Notably, this boutique hotel extends its hospitality to pets, providing a welcoming and comfortable stay for furry family members. The inn is recognized for its personalized service, with concierge staff ready to recommend local dining, hiking, and exploration options. Guests are also granted access to fitness centers, swimming pools, and a day spa located at a neighboring resort El Portal Hotel is not just a place to stay, but a destination in itself, offering a blend of luxury, history, and warmth that makes each visit memorable. Whether youre drawn by the artisanal craftsmanship of its interiors, the welcoming embrace of its pet-friendly policies, or the serene beauty of its courtyard, El Portal promises a stay thats both extraordinary and intimate. Walkability: The arts and shopping district of Tlaquepaque is right there, downtown Sedona is about a 6-8 min. walk. There lots of art galleries across the street. It's really well situated.

Connie and Steve are wonderful hosts that make you feel at home. And the location is perfect, right next door to Tlaquepaque, with its shops and dining options.
