I dont think Ive ever taken the time to leave anything but a 5-star review for a golf course, but unfortunately I have to do that today. I was set to play a foursome with a card holding member of McCormick. Simple enough right? So on my way to the course, the member gives me a call and says he and his father have to fall out due to both catching an illness that kept them up all night. Bummer. But no worries, he says hes going to call the course and let them know, but they will still honor the member guest rate. Cool. THEN he calls again to let me know he spoke to the front desk and all was taken care of. No issue. Bummer that he cant play, but we will hold it down. Well needless to say, thats not what happened. When I checked in, the front desk guy acted like we were trying to take advantage of their process and told me there was no way he was going to extend the member guest rate to me, because people would just book tee times for their friends all the time then. This coming from a guy who just spoke to our member, who plays there 3-4 days per week and is known by most people in the building. Its not about the money to me in this caseits about the principle. I can tell you that when I had to bail out of two foursomes with Arcis (Stonecreek and McDowell Mountain) last year due to illness, the pro shop didnt bat an eye. In fact, they were so hospitable to my guests that one of them signed up for a membership after they finished one of their rounds. In todays world, thats how it should be done. On top of this, the course conditions fell way short of expectations, especially for early April. This is prime high season in Scottsdale, yall! Dead/bald patches, asphalt bunkers and burnt greens shouldnt be in play at this time of year. The redeeming part of the round were the support team downstairs, the cart gals and the Marshalls. Super friendly folks. Hate to leave this, but I have the pleasure of experiencing the customer service of the Arcis portfolio every week and its night and day. Next time, well be playing an Arcis course.

A great game of golf was had today. The people are always polite and very helpful. We will be back.
