My husband and I had the great pleasure of being residents here. We would still be here if we had not moved back to California. The owners are the most gracious, accommodating people we have ever met. Our apartment was unusually large for two bedrooms, especially the master. We had a beautiful view of the stream behind us and the mountain. The neighbors we so easy to live with. They have been residents for many years, over 17 at least and we met others who have been here longer. That says a lot. The apartment itself was immaculate when we took possession and all I had to do was text the handyman when something needed tending. They allow dogs!!!!! The indoor pool was just a bonus for my granddaughters to visit. The best thing of all, was the incredibly reasonable rent. Management treated us as guests as opposed to renters. We had coffee provided and a taco truck, just to thank us renters for our business. That's good business to try to keep turnover low. Oh, and we had our own parking space! My daughter lives in Prescott Valley and if we do have to come back in years to come, I hope we can come back here. Thank you Shannon. The Harris family.

A beautiful place to live, quiet and nestled by a creek. Lived here 4.5 years and I will miss it. I am very thankful of management due to friendly and caring nature as well as concerns being met immediately.

This apartment complex has no conscience or morals. They kicked my son out of his apartment for one reason and that was because he misunderstood the wording on the lease. He is a single dad with a new baby, and they could care less as long as he is out of their apartment complex. But he has been there for six years and paid his rent on time every month they have not had any other problems with him. The obviously hold a grudge. You definitely cannot make a mistake because they will kick you out on to the street.

Can't say enough good things about The Woodlands. Close enough to downtown, yet you feel so far away. The apartments are very clean inside and out. They also have an indoor swimming pool !! The owners are awesome people that really care a lot about their building and their tenants.

I hope this review will give some insight. Communication does not exist with the management (Shannon). Even the office assistant is sworn to silence. (And they can't say I didn't live there. The lease was under my first name, Pamela.) Emails, phone calls and in person visits are ignored. Rules in the lease apply only to certain tenants. It is a dictatorship. Don't get me wrong, Woodlands is truly a beautiful place to live among the boulders and beside the creek. The trees are lovely and admiring nature is a blessing! I even had a view of Thumb Butte from the windows in my apartment! I am thankful that I experienced living at Woodlands. It is just the fact that when it comes to management (Shannon), nothing is as is seems. It is a sort of "Alice in Wonderland" experience. Maybe it would help if Shannon studied how to manage people in a tactful manner. She may be a real estate agent but that does not license her to be an evil queen. I just have to tell you about some of the things that I noticed while I lived there. Once, I arrived home to find the windows and air conditioning unit were covered with heavy brown paper and the temperature inside the apartment was hot enough to cause a heat stroke. This was without warning and totally unexpected. Paper over the windows and doors??!! When I turned on the complex provided (built in) window air conditioner, all the power to my apartment went off. Management had arranged for the building to be painted in the middle of summer. On another occasion, the fire alarm sounded for three hours at night during a monsoon storm. Phone messages for management were full. Everyone in the apartments must have been calling them. I think they must live in Flagstaff or somewhere far away, maybe Phoenix. Who knows where? It does seem as though they could appoint someone to look after the responsibilities for the complex at night. On one random occasion, when we reported mold under the sink, we were told that there is no mold in Arizona. Ha Ha. During the winter it is the responsibility of the tenants to clear snow and ice from the stairs and porches. This is a very dangerous situation for tenants and falls on the ice are very likely. I can only trust that the complex has good insurance. The lease states that there is no smoking in the complex, and that is good. But all the smokers gather at the big pine tree by Gurley Street which I think is awkward. They are right out there by the loud tenants at the adjacent rehab house. Years ago a young woman burned her Woodlands apartment by burning incense. Tenants were awakened by the fire alarm and stood outside and watched it. In 2019 my next door neighbors smoked pot in their apartment and when I reported it I was told it was only a skunk in the area. LOL. I am highly allergic to all smoke. Everyone at Woodlands "walks on eggshells" not knowing what to expect next. I was surprised. I lived there under the "new management" for two years, from March 2018 through March 2020. I paid my rent on time and followed all the rules. But finally I got enough of the nonsense and gave my written notice to move, in a timely manner, as the lease dictates. Then I received a letter stating that my lease would not be renewed. I then immediately sent an email stating that I had already given my written notice to move because I didn't want to live there anymore. Lol. I left the apartment in pristine condition and received every penney of my deposit back. Thank God. I saw the snarky responses from management to other reviewers comments. That should tell you who you will be dealing with if you choose to live at Woodlands. People leave reviews out of the desire to help others. They should not be ridiculed by management for their reviews. Oh, and as a last note, why did the new carport, car shed, mysteriously collapse? Was it due to a tornado in Prescott, on the hill at Woodlands or was it due to sabotage. This is a question tenants and former tenants discuss frequently.
