Randy Wilson contacted me on my cell phone (not sure how he got the number) asking about our lodging facility and if we wanted to sell. I told him we weren't looking to sell, however, if someone gave us a "Don't want to sell it" offer, we would consider it. He told me that was fine and would schedule a meeting for the following week. In the interim, he asked for our financials, which I felt was inappropriate and intrusive for someone I had neither met nor had any contractual relationship with so he was given a basic P+L doc. upon arrival. When he arrived, he brought an assistant with him which wasn't appreciated because of the pandemic and because he failed to inform me of this before hand. About halfway through the tour, he told me we could ask whatever we wanted and they would list it and then asked what I wanted to sell it for. I gave him the number, he told me he wouldn't list it for my asking price and what it should list for. He kept telling me that he was just being honest, which I appreciate, what I don't appreciate is someone who tells me that I can ask whatever I want and then in the next breath, contradict that statement. I then asked something to the effect of: Why would you waste my time when I told you over the phone that we wanted a top dollar which you told was fine, and you told me the same thing again just moments ago before you told me you wouldn't list it for that much? When he stumbled over his response and continued to regurgitate the broken line of, "I'm just being honest..." I told him were were done, he wasted me time, and to have a safe drive home. I can see why he has only two listings in the entire state of Michigan. He is a poor communicator at best and a liar at worst. He is a poor listener as well, my wife told him the same thing 3 times and it as if he didn't hear her or didn't want to. It leaves me wondering about his disposition towards women. In either case, I would avoid working with Randy Wilson unless of course you like being lied to and not listened to.
