Ppl hyped this place up and I havent been impressed whatsoever. Its LOUD in there. Not a library feel. Tons of metal/steel isnt cozy or reminiscent of wanting to curl up and read at all. Plus, Im good on trying to wade through the homeless folks congregated at the entrances. Theres also the aggressive petition ppl there as well. Sticking to audible and Amazon to read and KAHVI when I need a quiet place to work thats not the homeless central station, which is all of downtown. If you happen to get inside without calling 911 or Batman or both, theres more vagrants inside for ya to pick from. Phoenix should consider just giving the city to these folksapparently they already have

I went there to get Narcan. They give it for free and it can save a life. Many public libraries now give it out for free. They were so helpful and kind. It's also an amazing library in all regards.

I go to this library almost weekly, mainly for their audiobooks as I have to use a CD player at work. I will never hate on a homeless person for existing but this library genuinely has a homeless people issue. They hang out outside and harass people coming in for money or cigarettes. Also, this library is not quiet in the slightest. Theres always children screaming in the kids area and people talking very loud. I even saw a very loud fight break out in the front once. Maybe I am just an antisocial grouch, but I cannot stand being solicited by those people with their clipboards asking me to sign their potentially misleading petitions. They do it even if you said no walking in. I wish they checked the quality of their CDs and DVDs, you wouldnt believe the amount of movies and audiobooks Ive borrowed just for them to be completely scratched and basically destroyed. This library is amazing and has potential, the security and staff need to stop being so passive about everything. EDIT: they need to put their foot down with these petitioners outside. they have become more and more rude each time i come to the library. i understand its public domain but these people are FOLLOWING ME TO MY CAR. i just left the library a few minutes ago and one of them said dont ever complain about anything political again because i didnt sign his petition. ridiculous.
