Dan is the man. Been coming here for two years now. Rates are good for personal training, and the best part is the space is all yours for the length of the session. No wondering around a crowded gym! If you are looking to get healthy and stay there this is your guy. Dan is focused on health and safety. Working hard to make sure you have a strong foundation to grow on before getting into the bigger lifts. Dan himself is the owner and trainer. All around great guy who can get along with anyone. Patient and kind, with a healthy dose of positivity and reinforcement. Highly Recommended.

Dan is great, my daughter and I have been training with Dan over a year. I have back and knee issues that flare up sometimes, he is very helpful with trigger point therapy and careful with my training. We are very pleased with our training and will recommend his gym to anyone. We feel very comfortable going there.

I was in Phoenix visiting for a period of time while I received cancer treatments and decided that I wanted to get into better shape.  As a friend pointed out to me, round IS a shape (!) - but I wanted to get healthier as I had lost a lot of weight when I radically changed my diet and needed to start getting toned.  My wife found Peak Performance through reviews on Yelp, and I figured I would give it a shot. When I first met Dan he walked through my health history, current issues, and goals.  I was immediately struck by his attention to detail and knowledge of physiology - impressive to say the least.  While I had come to Dan to get in "better shape", as it turned out Dan was the answer to some other issues I was having.  The first is that a CT scan related to my cancer diagnosis had showed severe degeneration in my right hip.  I of course thought I would deal with that "later".  The second is that I have had significant issues for 15-20 years with my right shoulder that have been exacerbated by a lot of cross country driving/travel related to seeking health treatments.  I was simply resigned to not doing certain things due to the shoulder and to  living with the pain.  Lo and behold, Dan is not just a "trainer" - he is a highly trained professional who uses trigger point therapy to work the soft tissue issues that we all have at some level, and in my case it has been a miracle. Dan understands exactly how the body works, the mechanics of the muscles and ligaments, and how to safely and effectively build strength, stamina, and core health.  While providing a superior functional training exercise program, he also spends time educating you about your body and uses trigger point therapy to deal with any significant physical issues.I cannot more highly recommend Dan.  My wife and I began working with Dan in early 2015, and have spent about 6 months in total in Phoenix during the year.  I've worked with Dan most of the time we are here (and he generously helped me with a program for me to work while at home).  I am getting more toned all the time from his functional training, and my hip and shoulder issues continue to get better and better.  He has way exceeded all our expectations.  And to top it all off, Dan is just a great person - easy to work with, caring, intelligent and has a great sense of humor (hmmm...sounds like a personal ad..lol).  The short version of this review:  I cannot recommend Dan highly enough.  If you have any physical issue or pain, or you simply want effective, powerful personal training, Dan is your man!

Ann Barnard saved my life and my self esteem. Through education, encouragement and compassion, Ann helped me change my life. For the first time in my 38 years I feel strong!  I can climb stairs without huffing and puffing, I can play with my daughter willingly and happily and I actually WANT to exercise. Training with Ann was worth EVERY penny!

Over the years I have tried everything from acupuncture, normal exercise and massage  to try and ease my neck, shoulder and back pain. I also recently cracked my tailbone and after healing, thought I would never be able to get into a normal, successful work out routine again. I was in constant pain and thought I would never feel "normal" again. After reading many reviews on Peak and Dan, I decided to try the group sessions with him. My first session was also a consultation to figure out which stretches, exercises I could do comfortably. Let me add I was hesitant about doing a "group" workout feeling I would not get the attention and direction needed here- NOT the case! Dan really listened to my concerns and created the perfect balance of stretching/workout routine for me. Although I have only done 4 sessions I have seen great results. Dan truly listens and knows what each individual needs to strengthen and minimize pain. I am now back on a regular workout schedule and have really utilized all of his advice and training thus far. I can't wait for my next session to see what new I can learn and know I will feel that much better and stronger! I highly recommend Dan and Peak Performance Training for people with injuries or anyone wanting a high quality, no BS trainer.  Thanks Dan!
