Our experience at "Momma's Soul: Fish and Chicken" was exceptional! We indulged in their famous shrimps, both fried and tossed in Buffalo sauce, and they were absolutely delicious - perfectly cooked with just the right amount of sauce. Alongside, we tried the fried okra and mac n cheese, and even though I'm not usually a fan of mac n cheese, I must admit theirs was outstanding! The service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself had a spacious and clean ambiance. As it's soul food, expect a bit of a wait, but trust me, it's well worth it. If you're pressed for time, there's always McDonald's, but for a truly satisfying meal, "Momma's Soul" is the place to be.

I had high hopes due to the reviews. There arent many options for soul food around Phoenix & I hoped Id found a hidden gem. Being from the south I know good soul food & wasnt in the mood to cook myself. The catfish was good but would be better if it was whole instead of thin filet strips. The cabbage was great. They were out of greens but I wouldve liked to try them. I got rice & gravy but the rice was so gummy it looked like mashed potatoes & the gravy tasted like nothing but oil. The dressing couldve been good but was extremely dry even with cranberry sauce & had way too much sage or poultry seasoning. The taste and smell was overwhelming. The yams were flavored with vanilla extract and way too much of it. You could smell it before the container was even opened. I couldnt even eat them. The plate I purchased was advertised to come with a piece of bread & much like the other reviews, mine did not. I was given cornbread instead. I wouldve much rathered the piece of bread. The lady at the register was nice enough but I wouldnt return here simply bc the quality of the food doesnt match the price.
