Do not use Century Roofing for any reason. The following is a list of important reasons to look elsewhere for your roofing needs. First off, Century Roofing declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy in November, 2019. 1. I sued them in court for roof warranty violation, and the judge said that Century Roofing did not act in good faith nor in a timely manner to address my leaky roof. Century Roofing was ordered by the court to pay me an amount, and was ordered to pay all of my court fees. Century Roofing knows that most people will not take the time to sue them in court, so they are willing to take the chance and see what they can get away with. I recently met with state lawmakers in an effort to change the laws regarding the AZ Registrar of Contractors complete lack of oversight on consumer issues with licensed contractors. 2. I contacted Century Roofing in August, 2018 in regards to fixing my leaky roof long before the heavy rainfall and flooding that occurred between September 30- October 2nd, 2018. They have used that rainfall and flooding event as an excuse and crutch to further delay action on my roof which they never had any intention of fixing. 3. Century Roofing does not want to honor their warranties. If your roof is over 2 years old, the Registrar of Contractors can no longer lean on Century Roofing to do the right thing and honor their warranty. They are quite well aware of this. 4. They misquote the length of their roofing jobs. In addition, phone calls often are not returned. 5. The office secretary Dee is very rude, argumentative and confrontational. When you ask to speak with one of the managers, Steve or Sandy, good luck getting in touch with them if you've had a run-in with Dee. 6. Century Roofing has bullied me multiple times regarding this negative review, as they do here in their response. They are not interested in honoring their warranties, period. 7. I now have the same problem with my personal home roof that I had with my rental property roof. I got an estimate today of $2,500 to replace the flat roofing material on my back patio installed in October, 2016. 8. The new company gave me bad news on multiple fronts regarding my roof installed less than 4 years ago. They said: Pipe flashings not installed on electrical line, gas line, water line and condensation line. Whirly birds and dormer vents installed too low on roof decks, not pulling sufficient air causing attic to improperly vent. Patio roof "peel & stick" membrane installed incorrectly. No base sheet applied to plywood. Drip edge not primered with proper roofing specs for adhesion with "peel & stick" membrane. No mastic installed around perimeter to ensure adhesion of membrane to metal which after less than 4 years, drip edge has popped, causing not only a leak, but wood rot. Very unprofessional on installation details during application. 9. Century Roofing has a D- rating with The Better Business Bureau. They are not accredited with the BBB. However, Century Roofing advertises on their website that they have an A+ rating. This is a gross misrepresentation which has caused their website to be shut down for falsifying a professional relationship. 10. Wait, there's more: There are conflicts of interest regarding Google reviews left by an employee and a family member of Century Roofing. Dee, Office Assistant at Century Roofing, left a 5 star Google review. Also, Taylor, a family member of the owners Sandy and Steve, left a 5 star Google review of the company. I guess that is their answer to "beefing up" all the negative reviews from angry and furious customers instead of honoring their workmanship and warranties. 11. ***Remember, the AZ Registrar of Contractors can only protect you from poor workmanship for 2 years after completion***. After that, you're literally on your own! Your "10 Year Warranty" means nothing if you don't have the work performed by a reputable and honest company. Hopefully my negative experiences with Century Roofing will prevent future potential consumers to not make the same mistake I did. Service: Roof installation

I have known the owners for decades and they have always been honest and straight forward with an excellent work ethic. As far as knowledge of the industry goes, how do you question the integrity of a conpany that has been in business for so many decades? Simple fact of it is, they must be doing something right.

I cannot recommend Century Roofing. We had the misfortune to have them replace our home's foam roof about 4 1/2 years ago It has been the worst experience I have had with a contractor. There were problems with their work from the beginning. They began the job the day before rain and cold weather. They did not provide adequate crew and materials so they cut corners repairing the roof deck and hurried just to get the foam applied, before dark prevented the application of the first coat of elastomeric which is supposed to be applied immediately to protect the foam from sun damage. Several days later after the storm passed, they astonishingly returned with the intent to apply the first coat of elastomeric, although the roof was still covered with puddles of water and scattered ice from the storm. It was only after I demanded a call to the product representative who concurred that the elastomeric should not be applied that they consented to give up this ill conceived notion, agreed to finally apply tarps to protect the foam from sun damage and wait until conditions were favorable. However, they even did a sloppy job of this such that I had to purchase additional tarps and redo it to properly secure the roof. After this unfortunate comedy of events my confidence in the quality of the roof they would install was eroded. I asked to meet with Mr. Tony Urso, one of their officers, to discuss my concerns and seek assurance that they would stand by their work with a meaningful warranty. However, he rebuffed my request to meet. Furthermore, he would not commit to warranty the roof against defects in workmanship and materials but tried to pass off their standard "no leak warranty" which provided the customer next to nothing, as sufficient. Following this rebuff, they intended to finish the job with the second coat of elastomeric, however first, I insisted on an inspection which did reveal a number of defects related to the hurried application. These included foam blisters scattered throughout the roof, excess ponding, patchy coverage of the initial coat of elastomeric and failure to properly raise the vents and a sky light. What remedial work they did was again only because of my vigilance. After much contention they finally agreed to provide a 10 warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. The work was then completed. Fast forward to earlier this year, when after our annual inspection I received a contract proposal from them to repair "blistered, buckled and deteriorated roofing and to "repair bird holes, cracks.. and re-coat the entire roof with elastomeric for, not counting the bird holes, the sum $4,388.57. So here it is: Century Roofing not only tells me that after just four years their work shows significant deterioration requiring some $4,400 to repair but they ignore their warranty and expect to charge a substantial sum to correct the defects which should not be present. I asked Mr. Schwoerer, who provided the proposal, to meet with me at my home to survey the roof to discuss his recommendations, however consistent with their prior policy of customer service by neglect he ignored my request. The roof does have the deterioration which he described. The foam blisters remain and some of them have ruptured, or are close to doing so. Scattered over the roof, there are a number of cracks through the elasto-meric into the upper portion of the foam, areas in which the second coat of elastomeric is peeling from the initial coat, areas of pin holes in the upper layer of elastomeric, and several areas of foam denuded of elastomeric. My multiple requests that they honor their warranty have been ignored. The only response which I have received after my first communication which reminded them of their warranty, is that contrary to their proposal when they anticipated charging for it, they indicate that the only work necessary was repair of the bird holes. That is the saga to date. It is not a pretty picture. it does not show a company that does quality work or stands behind its product
