I came in for a consultation and unfortunately did not have the experience I was really hoping for based on all of the great reviews. I have a regular dentist who has been great but I wanted to get a look at the bigger picture and try to find a biological dentist with the many chronic health issues I have been struggling with. The front office staff was super friendly, helpful and welcoming. The dental assistant was very friendly. After talking with me, she was going to go straight to x-rays which Im sure is standard. I asked if I could discuss what I had going on with Dr Ebner first as I wanted to make sure the type of imaging was what I needed since I was getting a second opinion. When Dr Ebner came in, she was immediately reprimanding the assistant telling her that she wasnt doing good enough presenting my case or taking down information and that she had been there long enough to know better. This happened more than once and made the whole encounter very uncomfortable, especially since I was a new patient. I am a healthcare provider myself and understand the importance of a good flow to keep the day going smoothly. However, if there was a problem, I feel that this was an inappropriate time and place to address it and at the expense of the possible humiliation of the staff. I felt very rushed by the doctor, like with most western medicine these days, but I appreciated that she went through with a camera to show me what I had going on and provided good tips and education from another perspective. When the assistant did the x-rays, I didnt love that more were taken than necessary as she was needing to adjust a few times to get the area/angle that was needed. Then the hygienist came in to go over some more things, she was super nice and thorough. She was going to do a cleaning based on standard visit. However, this was a misunderstanding as I had already told the assistant and doctor that I just had one 2 months prior and was only there for consultation and to make sure I didnt have any infections. When I checked out, I was given a list of the 7 cavities that needed to be filled or repaired with 4 more to watch and the cost broken up into multiple visits. This left me very uneasy as my regular dentist only has 3 on their watch list and 0 that needed to be taken care of right away. It was recommended that I get MI paste, which I ended up purchasing in the office. Unfortunately, my fault, I didnt check or ask and it contains milk protein which I am allergic to, so I wont be able to use. I was grateful that my insurance covered the visit and this was determined ahead of time but I unfortunately will not be returning. I do appreciate that they are fluoride optional and that their preventative approach is more holistic. When it comes to treatment, the practice seems more standard versus biological.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your experience at our dental office. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we strive to provide the best care possible. It appears that you were anticipating a more holistic approach to dentistry. While we do integrate elements of eastern medicine and holistic dentistry, such as biocompatible restoration, minimally invasive procedures, and nutritional counseling, it's important to note that our practice primarily follows evidence-based principles in diagnosis, treatment, and material usage. Our approach includes BPA-free fillings, metal-free white crowns, laser gum therapy and proactive treatment of dental issues, which align with holistic dentistry principles but are also recognized in general dentistry. We understand that many of our patients have dental anxiety stemming from past traumas and rely on our dentist's expertise to address their concerns effectively and prevent recurrence as much as possible. Dr. Ebner conducts comprehensive exams to assess both external and internal factors contributing to dental issues, utilizing x-rays and visual aids to explain diagnoses and treatment plans. Our hygienist evaluates gum and bone health to determine the periodontal status and recommend appropriate cleaning procedures, irrespective of whether the patient is scheduled for a cleaning. It's important to note that our office does not pressure patients into undergoing dental treatments. We believe in empowering patients to choose the level of care that best suits their needs and preferences.Your mention of discomfort with the interaction between the dentist and the assistant is duly noted. Providing exceptional patient experiences is paramount to us, and we will use your feedback to enhance our team's training and improve our systems. We are genuinely grateful for your input and remain dedicated to continually improving our services to better serve you and all our patients.
