I have been working with Ashlea for about 2 months. My experience has been nothing short of incredible. Ashlea is kind, warm and moves at the pace I am comfortable with. I go in person for EMDR therapy and it is changing my life and is saving my life. I am grateful for the guidance and support through this journey. Several times I would issue a concern during couples counseling I would be met with a dismissive Well, why are you with them? Instead of addressing the issue I had. With my partner echoing Yeah why are you with me then? It was an endless cycle of allowing the continuation of stonewalling and emotional abuse instead of taking accountability to move forward. Not sure if this was a sign of bias from the counselor, Teejay. However, it is something to think on when choosing a counselor. Though, I think its best to try for yourself of course and be your own judge.

I joined the Nubian Queens Group at a time where I was experiencing a lot of transitions in life. Family, work, marriage, baby. I wasnt quite sure what to expect, but by divine order, it was everything I needed at the time. There were women at different stages personally and professionally and it was so enlightening and encouraging to hear all the different experiences. Because we were all black women, I felt comfortable enough to share and be vulnerable and it was met with open arms. I deeply appreciated the comfort and welcomeness to come and be as you are without pretense or expectation.
