Absolutely terrible experience. My husband and I loved the swbc branch in Utah so when we moved to Arizona we wanted to continue using this company as our lender. Everything was going well until the day before closing when our loan officer called to say we wouldn’t be closing anymore because they were unaware that the house had solar (I asked day 1 if the solar panels were going to be a problem and I was assured it wasn’t going to be). The appraiser also noted the presence of solar panels during his inspection and report back to swbc and swbc didn’t say anything at that point either, they waited until the day before closing to say anything. Suddenly all of our paperwork had to be redone and swbc demanded that we pay a significantly higher down payment (over $8k more) to close because they hadn’t “taken into account the solar payments” that came with the house. It’s worth noting that throughout this process it would also take days for our loan officer, Jordan to return my texts or emails and often if I asked multiple questions in an email or text she would only answer half of them and blatantly ignore the rest. After the first closing date fell through swbc refused to give us a new exact closing date, and after continually asking what was going on for about two weeks after that we finally got a call from the title company (not swbc, the title company) saying that we were closing later that same day, which was a surprise. Also throughout the process I would be asked for paperwork (bank statements, signed forms, etc.) only to have to resubmit the exact same items a few days later (they never admitted they lost my forms, butuu I suspect something like that happened, they wouldn’t give me an explanation why I had to keep redoing stuff). I would not recommend this company to anyone. They amplify an already stressful process and have terrible customer service, no organization, and no communication skills.
