I took my vehicle to Liberty Auto this morning, and was asked to sign an intake form which read, "I hereby authorize the repair work" detailed herein and agree to payment, with no distinction made between diagnostic and repair work, nor any assurance that I would be contacted before starting work. When I calmly asked the clerk about this, she quickly became defensive, talked over me, and pulled the paper away from me and told me I "could take it somewhere else," so that's what I did. I found another local shop that did not ask me to blindly pre-authorize and promise to pay for unspecified work. I waited a week to take my vehicle here specifically because of the positive reviews, so I was surprised and disappointed to have this experience here, but vague legalese asking me to sign a blank check in advance of any diagnosis is a major red flag.

These folks were incredible. Our car broke down just outside of page on vacation. It was right before places were closing for the weekend and lots of phone calls we made were answered by people who just couldnt do anything, or a little grouchy. But Stephanie at Liberty auto was very kind and listened and recommended a tow company. Then stayed a little after 5 to make sure it got in and got the keys. They checked our engine code for us and were so great with communication, then sent us on our way with no charge. So great to have someone who cares when your car totally dies on vacation! Paul and everyone at Liberty went above and beyond to repair my truck. We were traveling pulling a travel trailer when my truck quit running. The local Ford dealer said it would be 3-4 months to get the part and repair it. Liberty had it done in less than 10 days. I have not had such good communication and service in years. My Chevy Sonic needed an Engine Coolant Water Outlet valve replacement. These guys were true to their word about the time to fix, and did a great job. Despite my overly eagerness to get my car back, Paul and Shawn went above and beyond when it came professionalism and patience (especially with me). Last summer these guys took in a random minivan that was dropped off overnight when I had to get towed to them after they'd closed for the night. In the morning I let them know the situation and though there was a parts shortage and they already had other work to get to they were able to help me in a timely manner and get me back on the road faster than expected and we're super kind and helpful throughout, giving me a quick ride to Walmart and a tour guides office. Thanks for your help!
