We have been to the Luxery Mine now 2 years in a row, and it just keeps getting better! Lisa, the owner, is straight out of the 1800's, decked out in her western wear and sheriff's badge! She greets you upon arrival, and is eager to show you around. Her place is loaded with large camping areas, equipped to accommodate all the electric you may need. She has clean outhouses spaced all around, and even a regular bathroom with a shower, for those who can't rough it! And the land the mine is on is gorgeous! Atv ride takes you up the mountain for a tour of all the workings that go on in mining. Beautiful views and historical sites dot the landscape. A must do for any bucket list! My husband, Andy and I just love coming here, and the atmosphere Lisa creates with her "live and let live" attitude, will bring us back for years to come!

We did gold panning! It was a blast! My only complaint was I wish everyone wouldve dressed in period costumes and told more about history of panning gold and/or how things were back when.

Attended a Murder Mystery Dinner at the 1899 Historic Hotel. It was well planned, so much fun, great to meet new people, and the host and staff were polite, knowledgeable, fun and friendly! I would highly recommend these dinners or even a tour or the gold panning. You won't be disappointed!

Amazing place! I was super excited to see a gold mining exhibit pop up here. Everyone was super awesome and friendly to chat with. I'm upset I didn't write a review sooner. I bought a $40 bag and it turned out great. Can't wait to go back! Noteworthy details: Gold Planning!

We had a great overnight stay at the 1899 in one of the pull in campsites the host Pam was very accommodating as we had arrived late, and helped us get all checked in while running the monthly Murder Mystery Night (we didnt participate but it looked like a lot of fun!) It was spacious and the amenities were very modern and clean. Pam also gave us a history of the hotel the next morning and let us tour the rooms upstairs! Next visit we will allow more time to do some of the awesome activities they offer. Its so wonderful to see how the owner Lisa has restored this site that is so rich with history. A must visit place if youre in the area! 10/10
