image They built the most beautiful house and it is built well. They were very attentive to detail and always nice and considerate. We have been in our house for 2yrs and couldn't love it anymore than we do!

image Randy and Karen Erwin were great when we where in the process of buying the house and the assured me that not to worry about anything.  since they will take care of any issues after our walk through.  I kept in contact with them via e-mail and then asked to please meet.  Here is when the true colors came out.I was at my house w/ out my husband.  Randy and Karen came in and I told them that first of all I was very happy with the house with the exception of some minor issues.  I took them to the first bedroom and told them that the light switch is crooked and that I didn't care if he fixed it or not but that I wanted him to know that the details are just as important as the built of the house.  He said, well that is an easy fix and all you need is a screwdriver.  I turn around to let them know that the carpet edge to the tile was rough and nails were coming up. This is when I proceeded to move into entrance area and I hear him say to his wife Karen.  This F...B.... is just picky.  I heard this and turned around and told him, I can't believe the way you are referring to me in my house. I continued on showing him the walls that were rough and not sanded before painting and that the doors had gashes and were pilling.  He blamed it on me and that so what if the walls were rough, you can't tell.  He kept coursing at me and I started moving quicker through the house and showing him things that hadn't even been painted.  After I listen to all his BS and him telling me that I don't know anything, I took him to the Casita and told him that I was not happy with the closet organizer, that I couldn't open drawers to use them.  Here is where he blamed it on me and that this house was not built for a family that the casita was built more for a pool house.  I asked why he had it as a model and not put in it that it was not meant for a family.  He asked me why in the F... did you buy my home and that is when I was done with them both and told them to get the F.... out of my house and never come back.  They have never apologized for how they treated me as a Customer and in 2 months still have not finished the work.  I have talked to other customers of their homes and they will never have him built a house for them again.  He is an uptight A... and she does what ever he tells her.I wish that with the money I paid for this house, I know that I could have gone with another builder and gotten a house that was just as good or better.  He lacks in the details and doesn't care because he KNOWS (LOL) that he is the top builder in Havasu. (he said!!!!)Don't buy a Paradise Home.

image Unlike the person below who says she cant wait for Paradise to build her home I actually parted with $290,000 for them to build me an investment property.
Overall it was a really disappointing experience and a horrible investment.
Here are the highlights, or perhaps lowlights would be more appropriate.
I only spoke to the owner/builder, Randy, once at the very beginning of the process. Despite the size of my cash investment there was NO further communication.
Paradise homes guarantees the length of time it will take them to build the house but cleverly they dont include the permitting process in that time frame. We all know that building departments can be pesky but my house was NOT a custom house, it is a plan that has been submitted dozens of times so it doesnt make any sense that it took so long to clear. Rumor is that Randys son is in charge of that and apparently he is not very good at it.
It took 1 year and 4 months for the project to be completed.
Neither Randy nor his wife, Karen made themselves available to me for the final inspection despite the fact that I drove out from California.
Upon the final inspection I felt that the pedestal sink in the powder room was disproportionately small. In addition the water valve for the toilet in the master bathroom was not where it usually is, descreetly behind the toilet but about a foot off to the side. When I brought up these issues I was basically dismissed. Karen has a really bitchy attitude which she cloaks in sickly sweetness, but the result is a big FU. I was told if I wanted a different pedestal I could buy one myself.
As for the pipe, they claimed it could not be moved. Actually the pipe could easily be moved with a hold cut in the dry wall and then patched.
Maybe 290,000 dollars cash isnt a lot to some people but it was a lot to me and I believe all customers should be treated with respect anyway.
So those issues had to do with the builders.
In addition to building houses Paradise Homes also sells houses. They are partnered with individuals Ross Molitor and Larry from Selman and Associates. I should also note that Karen, the builders wife is also a real estate agent.
These real estate agents sold me the land that I build the house on, the land was owned by Larry. I now understand that I was misled into believing that the purchase price was fair when it was actually high.
They also told me the house would be sold before I had finished building it. Initially they said as soon as the slab was poured, then it was as soon as its framed out, then as soon as the roof is on, as soon as the dry wall is up etc etc,.
They told me to list the house at $499,000. But they did not market the house. Yes, it was on all the websites but it was not in any publications. Not on Facebook, NO open houses with other realtors invited. Essentially nothing that cost them money.
Eventually I pulled the listing from them and sold the house for $450,000. $50,000 less than I was originally pitched.
I never expected to sell it for the full asking price but had the house been marketed properly it probably would have sold. As it was the house had been on the market for so long that it was beginning to get stale.
Having had this almost 2 year long experience with this sometimes lazy, sometimes slimy, disengenuous group of people I would recommend that you dont touch either Selman and Associates or Paradise Homes with a 10 foot long barge pole.
I did eventually sell the house using a really sweet agent at Red Sign Realty, she even gave me back some of her commission because she knew Id been had.
