Palm Valley Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics - Goodyear

Our first visit in October was fine, my 6 yr old son (ASD level 2) and my 4 year old daughter had a cleaning done and thats where they found 8 cavities on my son. Because of his sensory issues, we agreed to do a conscious sedation to do the fillings. We went back, paid $500+ to get filled and that was it. Came back on in March for my sons 3 month cleaning and they discovered 2 more cavities. I was prepared to sign off on the conscious sedation again to have the two cavities filled until I saw how much the total was, $519. I called my insurance and the told me that as long as the dentist fills out a prior authorization form that is separate from the full claim, its more than likely my sons sedation would be approved by ins. I told the front office this and they kept giving me the run around saying they dont do that. I went took my son to a new dentist yesterday who actually DO prior authorizations for sedation and was told IF my ins doesnt approve the sedation, the cost is only $100 not $317 like palm valley! Also, they said the cavities were in a tooth that was already loose! I would be out over $500 if I didnt call my insurance!

Love all the people that work there! My son is a teenager with nonverbal autism. They are great with him and sweet. I wish I could just bring them treats everyday to show my appreciation LOL
