My name is Sean Hakes and I am the Owner of The Colorado Press. The company, Direct Fairways sold one of our businesses an ad in a golf guide in Colorado. After we purchased the ad, the salesperson contacted us and said the back page opened up and offered it to us, in addition to, a larger ad for an additional amount of money. The deal sounded fine so we went ahead with it.
When the book was printed, we found out this was far from the truth. The ad was the same size, and location as the original ad purchased. We put in a call to this company today who refused to do anything about it.
We have found a lot of other business owners who have had the same issue and have notified the Arizona State Attorney via an official press inquiry. This appears to be an outright scam.
