Michelle,We were calling to find out if your plumber had figured out a solution to your water problem and see where we were at as you had interest in having us do the siding. It was as a simple follow up that businesses do.As far as the roof. The condition of the roof shows signs of it being older than 5 years first off. Second off, we stated to you after going in your attic and spending multiple hours at your property that the roof was not the cause of the leak. We did the water test and showed you that the roof was not leaking. We determined after you got the stem wall replaced that there was still water damage, and that the roof was not the issue, which is why you agreed to cut open the wall to see if we could determine where the water was coming from.The assessment of the siding was that it had water damage and rot. Which it does. You asked us to quote you for new siding on that side of the house. We also explained to you that the siding was not causing the water damage but was damaged and needed replaced. Also, this is why we spent the time cutting into the wall to try and solve the problem that your leak detection company could not figure out. We discussed beforehand the amount to do the work and that we would deduct that amount if you hired us to do the siding work which needed to be done due to the water damage. After determining that the inside the wall was not the leak problem, we recommended you get a plumber out there to determine the water issue before replacing the siding. You agreed to everything that was done. When tracking down a leak like yours there are multiple steps to finding it. If it was an easy determination, the leak detection company, the plumber, and your other contractors would have all found the problem, which they apparently did not. To find a leak like yours it takes multiple steps to eliminate possible causes of the leak.We feel your review and response is extremely unfair after we spent the amount of time we did at your property trying to solve your issue. This is clearly not a cut and dry leak problem. We were simply going through the elimination process to find the leak for you that is necessary to get down to the problem.I am sorry you feel we tried to mislead you in any way. We were never trying to sell you anything that was not necessary or mislead you in any way. If we were trying to mislead you in any way, we would have told you it was the roof from the beginning and never gone out of our way to determine where the actual leak was from. We were very thorough in our communication with you during the whole process and the reasoning behind what we were doing, which you agreed to all of it.We understand it is a frustrating situation, but we do not feel a one-star review is justifiable after the amount of time we spent simply trying to help you out in finding where the leak was. The follow up calls are a simple business practice to communicate with a customer and determine where they are in the situation. A simple answer to the phone calls would have been an excellent way to communicate with your contractor. We also agreed to perform this invasive detective work without a down payment or signed contract in hopes that you would be an understanding homeowner. Lesson learned.
