Islands Elementary School

My child loved going here!! Mr.Bowen really made her love school and he was such a great teacher! If I could give this school a better rating I would just because the wonderful teachers like Mr.Bowen!!!

This is my sons 2nd year here. His kindergarten was a blast and I got along with my sons teacher and she always kept me up to date about my son. Now that he is in 1st grade. His teacher can not spear the time to discuss how my son is doing in class. She never returns my call or email. And when I come to his class she always avoids to talk to me. One time the principal pull me into his office and I felt threatened by him. How he approach me and raised his voice. He was holding the door handle like I was gonna run out of the office. I felt uncomfortable... Im thinking about transferring my son else where. I dont like going to the front office...I think the only friendly face I see that is always happy to spear the time to talk is the school nurse.

I sent my son to 4th grade last year and he was treated terrible by 2 teachers all because he didn't finish 1 work sheet in 30 minutes. He lost Fun Friday, Recess, and when I talked to the principal and the 2 teachers about it. One of the teachers was talking nasty to me on the phone saying comments that me nor the principal approved of. She retired the next year but one of the teachers still remains. So if your sending your kid to the 4th grade at this school. I really don't recommendIt at all.

Only a handful of good teachers, the rest are terrible. The principal is no better. I pulled my son out after 4 years!

Terrible school. Mismanaged and not an A+ rated school. I will be contacting the school superintendent reguarding the experience I had.
