This guy has been gone from Flagstaff for a while but I should probably note for patients wherever he is now that he was using dictation software to write his notes on our sessions and was talking into his dictation microphone almost synchronously with my talking to him, at the same time staring at his computer screen to see what he was dictating. If he's doing that to you I suggest you don't put up with it. In my view, he himself is a mental case.

Dr. Wright was great at the beginning. He listened attentively and was compassionate. However, as the years progressed, he became more condescending and somewhat unwilling to listen. Sometimes, while telling a story, he would cut me off mid-sentence and tell me "Well, if you are fine with it, then so am I", which is a nice way of telling somebody to shut up. However, the biggest shocker came when I discovered that he secretly instructed his office staff to obtain blood-work from me. I wasn't sure why he was doing this, but as the weeks went by his office staff became more and more rude and insistent that I come up and give them blood. When I told Dr. Wright about this, he confessed that he thought that I was using marijuana and wanted to test my blood for it. Initially, I thought this was a joke. What doctor would deceivingly go behind their patients back and ask for a blood test instead of just verbally asking them? I was a 35 year old working professional with 2 college degrees. I am not afraid of telling my doctor anything, much less about smoking weed for gods sake. No one has ever told me that I look or act as if I am high on any substance. This is just an example of how poorly Dr. Wright is at reading his patients. You would think that kind of talent would be innate in a doctor, but not in this case. Then, to make matters worse he became very offended when I told him that his office staff was being pushy and was insisting that I give them my blood. Even in a town like Flagstaff where there are not a lot of choices when it comes to psychiatrist, Dr. Wright should still be avoided at all cost.

Dr. Cody Wright - I wish I'd found Dr. Wright years ago. He's compassionate, on the mark without being confrontational, and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.
