Michaels

After collecting select pieces of art on my recent trip to Greece, I was excited to have the four pieces either stretched over canvas or framed. I traveled from the Verde Valley to Michaels in Flagstaff. What a huge mistake and disappointment that was. Three of the four pieces of art were 'thrown away' accidentally I was told. I received the call a few days before the Christmas holiday which, to say the least, was shocking. I was told this had never happened and that they would work with me to resolve the matter. That was in December. It is now April and I have only been compensated for 1 piece of art. The framing charges applied to a Michaels credit card dragged on for 3 months before I was compensated, resulting in a ding on my credit for being 30 days past due. Needless to say, this is a warning to think very, very carefully before taking your art to Michael's in Flagstaff. This has been a disheartening experience, and a half-hearted attempt to resolve the matter on Michael's part.

I think Michael's and I are officially done. I always leave that store agitated, and it's just not worth the hassle anymore. For one, their sales are ridiculous. Only certain items actually meet the criteria, and you spend more time walking back and forth from the register to try to find the exact items that are on sale. You look at the sign, you grab items that are directly behind the sign, you verify that what you have is on the sign, and then you get to the register and there's always some reason that what you have is not actually covered by the sale. It's a waste of time, honestly. I feel bad for the employees as well, as on multiple occasions I've seen managers be downright rude to the employees for things that are not their fault. Overall, it's just a consistently yucky experience and while I'm disappointed to give business to Amazon, at least there's no ambiguity as to what I'll be paying.
