Every interaction ive had with one of these parking attendants has been one of the most unpleasant interactions with another human ive had in quite some time. The attendant working the morning of january 23rd 2024 in specific, every time i have talked to this man he has been over the top rude telling me that i am only allowed one hour parking without giving me a reason why threatening to tow me for being there over an hour. This guy is on a power trip and is a terrible person to be in charge of the customer service in the downton san francisco lot, to a point where i believe corporal punishment should be reinstilled to get this guy off his pedistool. I understand you guys want to shoo away people from parking at their favorite businesses that already charge them too much to go there in a town where we already pay too much just to live here. But there doesnt need to be some grumpy old man yelling at everyone threatening to boot/tow them about it. Not to mention the sign states free 2 hour parking for the surrounding buisnessess, yet i have been ticketed in under an hour on several occasions while going to these businesses. Do better

Your machine was out of paper so could not pay for parking and instead of coming in and asking any one if they needed to pay you disabled my vehicle and I had to pay $100 was only there for one hour. You are a complete scam and absolutely disrespectful business practices. I will dispute the charges due to your incompetence and lack of operating a legitimate business practice.

Had an awful experience with this parking lot during a family visit to Flagstaff. Was with my son and his family in separate vehicles. When we entered the lot all parking spaces are clearly posted with a sign stating it is a paid parking space and if you don't pay who are subject to a fine and/or your vehicle will be towed. Each parking space in marked with these signs except for one handicap parking space in the back corner of the lot, which only had the handicap sign. I'm 68 years old and my wife is handicapped so we parked in that space since we have a handicap placard. I did not park there for convenience because that space was at the back of the lot and there were several open spaces closer to the restaurant we were going to. I wrongly assumed the handicap space was a courtesy non-paid space for disabled people since there was only one spot, it was not convenient as far as location, and there was no paid parking sign posted on this space, just a handicap sign. I have parked in other private parking lots that do not charge for handicap spaces which added to my assumption that it was a non-pay space. When we returned to the parking lot an hour or so later there was a chain on my tire and a notice advising I would have to pay a fine. I spoke to a employee who told me that Arizona law does not require private parking lots to have non-paid handicap parking, like California. I told him I was not aware of that and explained I was not trying to cheat them out of a parking fee, but was confused by the signage. Regardless I had to pay a $100.00 fine so my vehicle would be released, much to my embarrassment since this took place in front of my son and grandchildren. I would not have been placed into this position if that parking space had been signed with a handicap sign and a paid parking space sign with the warnings. Why wasn't that done to make it very clear that I had to pay. I hope that other elderly and handicap people are not trapped in the same situation, which is why I'm writing this review.

UPDATE: I want it known that on June 10, 2019, American Valet responded by calling me and crediting my account for the $100. Lesson learned, do not park in lots, park along the road in Flagstaff. Beware of your parking situation and watch the time. I give them NO stars!!!! I was tremendously upset with them on May 16th. I parked in this lot one evening and paid the $6 for 2 hours. I ran into friends that I had not seen in a very, very long time and was 45 minutes late returning to my car. They disabled my SUV by putting a "BARNACLE" on my windshield. Google it if you don't know what that is! There was no way I could remove it without paying $335 !!!!!!! WTH?!? I could get the $200 deposit back when I returned the unharmed Barnacle to them. Where ?? Phoenix?? I'm an older lady (69) and I was left there late at night, alone, raining and cold, transients walking by and talking to me, other men and women walking by and I couldn't get into my car (much less drive it away) because whenever I opened the door, a siren would go off !!!! Why didn't they text me that my time was running out? Why didn't they just add another $3 to my credit card? By the time I was able to talk to a real person, you can add another hour onto my time !! They sent a young guy to assist me. After much discussion, he finally said the best he could do for me was I needed to pay $100 with my credit card and then he could get the code to release the barnacle and take it with him. So I guess you can say I "saved" $35 doing it this way ! Everybody on Facebook and every friend of mine has read about my story and they are livid!!! The want me to sue the City of Flagstaff, but this is a PRIVATE parking lot. I am so angry, I'm letting this go. I hope they allow this REVIEW on their site.
