I have mixed feelings about my experience with the Dana Hubbell Group. My family and I are relocating to Arizona next week. We sent all our information to Brock on 10/25; this included pay stubs, profit statements for our business, and credit scores. On 10/28, we were told by Brock the landlord said yes, and that we would receive a preliminary lease. However, things got weird for us when I received a call from Dana explaining that the landlord was her friend and asking to clarify a low credit score which I had already done in an email with Brock. I explained that for the past two years, my husband and I had been fully supporting three households (our parents) due to the pandemic and their loss of work along with sickness. My issue is not about the credit score. While it may be embarrassing to some to state they have a low credit score, it is not for us. We are grateful to have had the income to support our parents, even if that meant missing a few payments of our own. Landlords have credit score requirements, and we fully respect that. However, after seeing my credit score and receiving a yes on 10/28 and 11/3, we received an email from Brock. That email apologized and stated that after the landlord reviewed our information with her financial advisor and family members, they decided to decline due to my low credit score. My credit score was the same on 10/25; a denial should have come then instead of wasting over seven days of our time and requesting more information from us. Arizona's market is very competitive, and this rental home was our first choice because it was beautiful. We had applied for two other rental homes as backups and were approved, but we informed the other parties on 10/28 that a preliminary lease was being sent over by Brock because they needed an answer and couldn't hold the homes any longer. This transaction left my family in a tight spot seeing that our move was set for next week. My family takes reviews very seriously, as one of our businesses is customer-driven, so we grappled back and forth with writing this review. We thought this might be helpful to others looking to rent a home with this group.
