My husband was only there for one day but everyone was incredible! So glad he passed away there instead of in the hospital.

Its a whole new phase of life for all of us. Im happy to report that my Dad was comfortable, clean and taken care of the whole time he was at Dobson Home. Dobson Home has 24/7 visiting hours. Just ring the doorbell or call the number on the sign if the door is locked. You will always feel welcomed. Also, pets are allowed and that was very important to us. There is also a volunteer who comes in to play the harp and it sounds very nice.My niece noticed that the dove on the hospice sign also looks like a "helping hand" which I thought was very special.
The staff is compassionate, efficient, understanding and they are all good listeners. There are nurses around the clock - day and night shifts. The staff is very attentive and efficient, professional, sympathetic and helpful. I would pop in often and the facility was always very clean and the kitchen was spotless. They mop the floor and empty the trash cans often (like all of my used tissues from crying). There is also hand sanitizer in every room. The lighting in the rooms is adjustable. Outside, there is a playground, a grill, two huge beautiful trees for shade, and a large open space with green grass.
My Dads room had screened in french doors and a private patio with a bench outside. I would open the doors for fresh air and sometimes sit outside on the porch when I needed a break. When my Dad was still eating, the nurses would make him whatever he requested. They even went to the store to get specific items for him. When my Dad stopped being able to communicate, the nurses would reposition my Dad frequently and cover him with a blanket when needed. They propped him up with pillows, there were extra pads around his elbows (Im guessing to prevent bed sores) and they put an alarm on his bed because he would try to get up. He had foot issues and couldnt cut his toenails, and, surprisingly, they did it for him.
The nurses were able to tell when Dad had only hours left to live. I was there just hours before Dad passed and even near the end of his hospice stay, I saw the nurses taking great care of him, bathing him, changing his clothes, and giving him crisp, clean, fresh new bed sheets. He looked good - dignified even in this state. When Dad did pass, we were notified immediately.
Overall, its a very clean, quiet, and calm atmosphere with a home-like environment. The Dobson Home has a welcoming and peaceful feeling. They also have good lemonade! Again, Id like to stress how wonderful the staff is. Especially Joe, who was very helpful to my Mom because she was feeling really lost through all of this. Personally, I felt my spirituality blossom at the Dobson Home and I am very grateful that we found this place because my loved ones deserve the Best care. Miss you, Dad.

The staff here is amazing. My grandmother was only here for a couple of days and she passed so peacefully. All the staff here treated us like family and treated my nana with such love and respect. They were so comforting in such a difficult time. The house is beautiful and clean. My grandmother was treated with much respect until the end. Thank you to everyone at Dobson Home. We will be eternally grateful for your care.

Dobson Home is a beautiful home with beautiful people/staff. My best friend died there; I could not have dreamed of a better place for her to be at the end. So many wonderful, caring people there- from the admin, the nursing staff, the doctor. These people really understand death, and helped me to understand, as well. This is a special place.
