I had the good fortune of staying at this brand new lodge in May 2023. OMG!!! So amazing. For a new place they do things the right way. The rooms are HUGE and very comfortable. The mattresses are so amazing I tried to figure out who made them to buy for my next bed. The sheets, comforters, etc. are high quality. When you lie down it's like sinking into a cloud. All amenities are top quality, from the furnishings to the linens, towels, etc. The bathroom is large and has a great soaking tub/shower. One of the nicest things was the owner. She took great care of me and my father. She anticipated our needs while there, for example, put us in a room on ground level so my 91 year old dad wouldn't have to walk up the stairs to the 2nd floor. She also had great advice on things to do/see while there and even made a restaurant reservation for us at The Flats Bistro. (a must try). The location is convenient to town, about 5-8 minutes to restaurants, shopping, etc. The lodge is across the street from Longmere lake and from the upstairs suites and rooms you can see the lake over/through the trees. I highly recommend this lodge for anyone visiting the area for fishing, snowmobiling, sightseeing, hunting, ATV riding, etc. Rooms: I used to work (25 years) for hotels like The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis and other resorts and these rooms have beds that rival those hotels. The mattresses, linens, etc. are super comfy. There are nice amenities in the rooms too, like microwaves, small fridge, coffee maker, etc. The rooms are very clean and really large (My guess they are 450 sq. ft.) Nearby activities: Went King Salmon fishing on the Kasiloff River on May 16th. Apparently waaaay too early for the Salmon. 25 boats launched that day on the river and no one caught a salmon. :( Also walked across the street and spent a little time at Longmeer lake. Didn't have rods or reels or a boat or we would fished there too. There are other things to do in the area, but we ran out of time: ATV rentals, Snowmobile Rentals, Dog Sledding, Bear Viewing, etc. Food & drinks: Had dinner at The Flats Bistro in Kenai (about 15 minutes from the lodge) and it was so good we complimented the manager on the service and cuisine. I would highly recommend that restaurant. Dined at some Soldotna restaurants (5-7 minutes away) too that were also good: Ido for breakfast and Mykel's for dinner and Brew@602 for breakfast.
