Had a few minor complaints to settle with these guys but nothing to tell the world about. They ain't cheap by any means and will make every single dime that they can from you BUT THEY WILL find the problem, make your truck run strong again and do it in a timely matter while staying true to the quoted price! I didn't like the price but I got what I wanted for the price that I agreed to.unlike the first shop to work on my truck for "$800-$1,000" and then told me $2,500 when I picked up my engine that ended up not even running anyway. If you can afford them, these guys are good at what they do, if I ever run into another problem that I can't figure out myself I'll bring it back into 1023 for sure. Also they do warrantee the work.

They went above and beyond for me when (Unfortunately for me) my truck became a frequent visitor for a few months. Multi-point inspections are performed each time the vehicle is in for service and the PM form along with photos are emailed to you for review. Work was performed promptly once parts arrived and I was kept up to date on the progress of my truck each time. I'm a fan. I will continue to bring my truck for service as long as I own a diesel.

My injection pump sprung a leak on Christmas outside of anchorage & 1023 was the only shop I could get ahold of the day after. My only options were to pay to have it towed home to Nikiski or to 1023. I chose to have 1023 fix it, figuring it would save me time and headache in the long run. They got it in, and we decided to do an injection pump rebuild. They took an extra week for quality checks, which I was fine with as I would have to drive it 4 hours after it was done. Finally took it home, and the next day, the throttle linkage came apart on my way to work. Luckily, I had tools and put it back together, but if it was my wife driving or someone without the skills, that would've been a tow bill. Started looking at things closer and found the ksb on the injection pump leaking as well as one of my injector lines. I also found that both the stops on my hood springs were bent, allowing them to open too far and making it difficult to shut. I spoke to the shop manager about this and the only solution he would offer to make is right was for me to pay $200+ out of pocket in fuel for my truck and another car and 8 hrs of driving for two people to bring my truck back to the shop and the other car to take me home. Then do that again to go pick it up. Essentially $400 and two full work days of time for their mistake after already paying for this to be fixed. I am partially to blame as I should have spent some more time checking the truck before taking it home. Just hard to believe that after all the extra time for quality checks, they missed two leaks and two loose nuts, not to mention they somehow managed to bend my hood springs. I understand mistakes happen, but when it's this many things and I have to wait that long for them to "be absolutely sure," it's good to go, then it's more negligence than anything.

Daniel, we have offered to take care of any and all problems you experience with your truck as we warranty all of our work.Unfortunately things do not always go perfectly when working on 30+ year old vehicles, but regardless we have offered to warranty all issues. You have refused to work with us on this and your only solution offered was having us issue you a refund to "make it right". Unfortunately this is against our warranty policy, we would gladly take care of any issues in our shop or potentially even pay another professional shop in your area to take care of any issues caused by our work.
