Golden Sands Stables & Lodging, LLC

This is THE place to stay when visiting Nome. The location is right beside the grocery store and a convenience store. The place was super clean - in our room the bath tub was the whitest bath tub I have ever seen, I mean like brand new white - so much so that our bath tub at home will never be clean enough for my wife. The kitchen was also great, stocked with eggs, bread, milk and cereal. We were able to buy sausage from the store next door. The hostess, Miranda, took us out to her farm (not sure she always does that, but she did for us). On the drive, saw musk ox right up against the road. So like I said, this is THE place to stay when you visit Nome. It is just a short walk to "downtown" - less than ten minutes. Rooms: The room was great. Safety: Totally safe. Door code to get in to the house and another one to get into your room.

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed my visit to nome. This facility was instrumental in making it a wonderful trip. The room was very clean, the house host was very down to earth, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The owners were over the top with info, hospitality, and friendliness. I would recommend to anyone going to nome, any time of the year to deffinately stay here if there is any availability. It will be my first call if I get a chance to go back!

For Iditarod finish activities, this was a great spot. With added amenities of having a kitchen, living room, and a host who loves to cook, and an occasional dog. Who can resist this face?

Room was decent and generally clean. Provided shower towels had holes and tears in them. Shared bathrooms were sufficient but require TLC and cleaning. Quite loud during the day. Do not expect any refunds, period, under any circumstances. I was promptly booted out of my room at noon even though I had the room paid in full for another 5 days. If travelling for business or require quiet hours, I advise to look elsewhere.

My son and I stayed at this B&B for a work trip. Due to some complications on our end we had to extend out stay MULTIPLE times. Miranda and Phraustie were patient and accommodating, and made sure we were given the best deal possible when our stay extended over discounted periods of time (ie, when our extensions had us reach a week, 2 weeks and 3 weeks we reiceived the weekly price). Phraustie was friendly with the kiddo and made the environment relaxing and clean. Miranda stopped by in person to make sure breakfast items were in stock and even made sure that I had foods to meet my dietary needs. We happened to be scheduled for our stay while they received some new appliances and equipment. They asked if they could install the equipment while we were staying there but didn't pressure or make a big deal. Very patient, kind business. Our stay was more than comfortable and I couldn't recommend them more. High marks for effective and fast communication and customer service. High marks for location. High marks for the appliances, bedding and plenty of towels for use. Thanks so much for making our difficult time much easier!
