I do not believe Dr. Holloway or oral surgery associates, care about their patients. I arrived for an appointment after two months waiting on a Painfull Tooth extraction. Having come to Holloway two years ago to have the same tooth on the other side removed. I had a severe vagal reaction. So much so we could not get both teeth pulled and it took me two years to build up the confidence to go back. I requested Gas or IV sedation for the next procedure. Unfortunately, everybody I know works during the hours that I was able to get an appointment and even though I offered to have the taxi driver come up and get me after the procedure and take me home they refused IV sedation because the taxi driver wouldnt wait for the entire time of the appointment.
So, I had to tough it out again, and just go without sedation. I was in pain. Nervous about having a vagal response I let the office know that I would medicate myself prior to arrival to help reduce the level of vagal response, I would take a previously prescribed 1 mg Xanax 30 minutes prior to arriving. Once I arrived, I inquired one last time if they might, by chance be able to give me some gas or allow me to call a cab and get IV sedation he said no. Dr. Holloway said no he was not going to lose his license for anyone, In the chair and prepared to extract the tooth with only numbing. in conversation, I let the doctor know that I was a little bit less apprehensive because I had already taken a Xanax. He went about his business for a moment, walked out of the area, came back in and said, and because i said I was under the influence of a 1mg Zanax it was not legal for me to sign my medical forms. They told me that I would have to reschedule for another appointment, When I showed mild displeasure that they canceled my appointment walking upfront to reschedule me one of the medical assistance, stuck her head through the door and said dont bother they didnt want to reschedule a new appointment for me. Are you kidding me? I was floored. In 54 years I have never been treated, so unprofessionally distastefully and with such lack of empathy for the situation. There are many other providers. . Oral surgery, Associates of Anchorage and Kenai and specifically Dr. Ray Holloway don't care about their patients. They only care about not getting sued and take the easiest laziest route to do that, instead of trying to take care of the people that spend their hard earned money with them. (How hard would it have been to sedate me and for one of his staff to walk me 200 feet to the front of the office and put me in a cab). I cannot in good conscience. Recommend Oral Surgery Associates of Alaska or Dr. Ray Holloway.
