Homer Floatplane Lodge and Wild Blue Air

We had a very nice stay at Homer Floatplane Lodge in July 2022. Our room was clean and comfortable and overlooked Beluga Lake, where a lot of Homer floatplanes are based. We enjoyed watching the float planes, and never noticed the noise. Also enjoyed watching the families of ducks and trumpeter swans.

What a great experience! First, safety! Im not the calmest flyer even on big planes, but with my daughter in tow we got on this float plane and felt safe with our pilot and this great Dehavillian Beaver. Our guide Lance was great with us and the bears. Never felt unsafe. It was a day to remember! Thanks Emerald Air!

So while our trip was sadly cancelled due to weather conditions, emerald air folks were super friendly and professional. I did a lot of research before choosing these folks as I wanted a float plane experience and I appreciated their safety first attitude with the pilot explaining why they couldn't make the trip. They helped us find an alternate provider who could land on wheels on the beach (cool, but not as cool as float plane). They credited back my fees without a hitch. So I can't speak for the tour experience, but wanted to speak up about their professionalism. I hope to get back up there for this trip. Note the office is now at 1344 Lakeshore drive.
