Chena Outdoor Collective- Reindeer & Sled Dogs

Canceled on us the day before. I barely got booked with another company. I understand the snow starting to melt but they should have given me a sooner notice.

We did the reindeer tour as a family of 4, with two kids under 12. They were so knowledgeable, provided the info in a digestible and interesting manner. They seem to really care about the reindeer and providing an educational yet fun environment for all ages. Kids absolutely loved it and felt it was one of the best days of the trip. We will be recommending this place to others.

Our tour guide was highly educated and enjoyed sharing her knowledge of all things reindeer. Our group of 3 got to walk through a wooded trail with 3 reindeer while holding their leads. The tour guide is constantly sharing info and engaging with the group. We got to feed them moss and was a lot of fun with great pictures to boot.

Our experience with Chena Outdoor Collective was five star service all around. From my first email inquiring about a day not typically open, to them rearranging their schedule to accommodate it, great communication, a very informative experience learning about caribou and reindeer to a unique experience feeding and walking them through the snowy forest, our family loved every moment. Definitely recommend!

Were did the 1-hour sled dog tour and it was one of our FAVORITE activities for the whole week. First of all, we were so relieved they could accommodate us when another dog sledding tour cancelled on us that week. Secondly, the actual ride was amazing! We had Laura and our other friends had Spencer. Laura is clearly so passionate about her dogs, and her dogs were some of the friendliest and happiest dogs Ive seen. Shes super knowledgeable, a fantastic storyteller, and a great photographer. The time really flew by in the best way as we learned about Alaskan huskies and asked about everything from moose encounters to what the dogs like to eat to her Ididerot race. The dogs were great they really leaned into ya when ya pet them, but theyre also jumping and itching to run which is amazing! (Dont forgot to tip your mushers theyve got Venmo!) Thirdly, dont sleep on the gift shop. Super cool Alaskan pottery, jewelry, and souvenirs. I bought an extra duffel bag for the ceramics I bought here alone!
