Handpicked Alaska - Customized Self-Drive Travel

My husband and I spent two weeks traveling (self guide tour) through Alaska under the excellent guidance of Elizabeth from Handpicked Alaska. Elizabeth helped us design an itinerary that surpassed all our expectations! From car rental to unique lodging & dining and exciting excursions, she provided seamless support every step of the way. Our trip included a beautiful Tundra Wilderness Tour in Denali National Park where we viewed Caribou, Dall Sheep and Moose and also learned about the history of this magnificent park. From Valdez we enjoyed an exciting Sea Kayak to Columbia Glacier in Prince William Sound. We were able to witness tidewater glacial calving up close in a most peaceful and serene environment. In Seward we took the Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise and viewed many humpback whales, sea lions, harbor seals, sea otters, star fish and jelly fish, plus more magnificent glaciers. We took a small plane from Homer to Lake Clark National Park where we were able to see coastal brown bears and learn about their unique habitat and behavior. From Girdwood we enjoyed a train ride to Spencer Iceberg where we boarded rafts and floated down the Placer River. All our excursions were lead by knowledgable and entertaining guides that provided us with a plethora of information on Alaska's history, native culture, geology, and wildlife. There are few superlatives to describe the vast beauty of Alaska and we didn't want to miss a thing! We are so grateful we had Elizabeth's hospitality, knowledge and connections at our fingertips throughout our trip. We highly recommend Handpicked Alaska for your travel.

Perfectly put together and great coordination during the trip. The best we've done so far: Anchorage to Denali, Chinitna Bay. True wilderness. The world is big and u want to see it all, but Alaska is the place we definitely going back. Thx Damian, excellent job.

Absolutely fantastic trip! I could not arrange it so well myself. My friend and I spent just over 2 weeks in the most beautiful place on the planet. Self-drive tour was prepared including every single one of our dreams we had about Alaska and all of our preferences. To be honest we thought the support will include only the information being sent to us prior to the trip(and believe me, there was a lot of it!, no Google needed) and a phone call we had. How surprised we were when Damian checked on us every day, gave us updates on the weather and activities the next day or alternatives if the weather was not suitable. We really wanted to have a trip where we are not in a big group of people but where we feel safe, supported and have a very interesting and exciting plan of the trip. Thank you Niceland!

Wow! Elizabeth provided us with an excellent and detailed itinerary for our 15-day self-drive excursion through Alaska. We told her our travel ideas, budget, activities we enjoyed, and she suggested ideas based on her experiences. With that information she crafted an experience that will forever be remembered. She handled all the activity and lodging bookings; all we had to do was show up! We received an itinerary that highlighted stops along our drive, details of all our lodgings and activities, a Google route map, and even restaurant suggestions. Not only that but she checked in by text with us along the way to see how things were going and if we had any questions or concerns. She made us feel so important and took away all the stress of planning our trip, allowing my wife and I to focus on enjoying our wonderful trip to Alaska. Thanks Elizabeth!

Going to Alaska was my big dream. From the first inquiry about the trip, everything was handled very professionally. Damian from Niceland took care of giving me all the details before leaving, and during my stay in Alaska. He kept in touch with me every day and made sure that everything was fine, that the planned trips took place, and that I knew what to do and where to go. Thanks to Niceland, I got the most out of Alaska: I could visit Denali Park, take a flight above the Denali mountain with landing on Ruth Glacier, do grizzly bear trekking in Clark Lake National Park, and climb with a guide to the glacier. In addition, I took a whale, killer whale, and sea lion-watching cruise in Seward, and then dog sledding at 4,800 feet. All events & excursions were arranged with the best vendors, perfectly selected and matched to my needs by Niceland. Alaska is wild, cold a bit, and sometimes rainy, but nothing beats the views here. Wild animals that literally come out of the forest onto the road and are everywhere made Alaska steal my heart. Damian and Niceland thanks for everything.
