Providence Alaska Medical Center

They are trying to increase nurse to patient ratios and hire tele nurses. Pt care will suffer. Also they dont want to pay match Washington and Oregon providence hosptials pay for employees even though Alaska has a higher cost of living and this facility is the most profitable. Also the ceo made over 1 million in 2023 but cant afford to pay nurses! Strike imminent! Stay away!

this place claims to have a psych ward but do not actually have one as they don't do inpatient care and have no psychiatrist's on staff do not come here if you are actually struggling and need help they will not help you

My brother has been admitted twice to Providence both times things have turned up missing from his room. One being his wallet with all identification in it. No one seems to care. Also ask for updates as his POA and they never call with updates. I find out after the fact. He is mentally challenged and information from him is not always accurate but they only communicate with him.

I had a very comfortable, enjoyable experience. Granted i was in a lot of pain but they took care of me so well and focused on me as a person not a symptom. All staff was extremely dedicated, kind, and gentle. They made the surgery flawless and honestly as comfortable as could be and i really appreciated every effort made. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone. Beautiful staff and facilities. Amazing experience. I trust them with my life.
