The work itself went fine, but then he tried to charge me $375 for one hour of labor on top of the parts. For that reason I cant recommend him. If you do hire him be sure ask about his labor cost up front, and make sure the parts and labor are listed separately, not like on my bill where he just wrote one (big) number. I did talk the price down but still feeling used. Services: Toilet repair, Plumbing pipe repair

On approximately December 13th, 2022 (not sure of the date) I called G & H Plumbing for a water leak. I got his number from the BBB site (https://www.bbb.org/local-bbb/bbb-serving-central-and-south-alabama) I called him and requested he come out and investigate and repair water leaking I could hear under my house; I told him no rush because I had shut off the water the day before, and it was not currently leaking. He eventually arrived and got under the house and said he saw the drips and cut the insulation to allow the water to drain. He found the leak right at the access door and cut out a little piece of pipe and put on a push coupling and told me to turn back on the water. He said earlier that there was another leak farther back but retracted the statement and said he was done. I said when I turned the water back on it was still running slowly which means there is still a leak. He assured me that it was the toilets leaking and the repair was complete. I told him I had valves in the toilets that don't leak by, and it could not be the toilets. He insisted it was the toilets. He never came into the house once, so how could he ever know the toilets were the problem. I told him while he was under the house that all that stuff he was cutting needed to be taken out to put in the trash, he just ignored my request. (My pipes are now exposed to cold weather because he did not put back the insulation or tell me it had to be done) I told him again that the leak farther back was still leaking, and he said I do not know what is going on back there (about 6 feet past the first leak). He closed the access door and said that will be $275.00 and I said Whoa! surprised at the price, he said you are lucky and named some plumbing company saying they would have charged you $250.00 just to drive in your driveway and that he was the cheapest one around and if I could prove different He would refund my money. (I cannot believe he compared himself to professional companies. His van looked like it should have been retired long ago, and it was practically empty inside, no labels on the van saying what company he was, his helper did not do a thing, not one thing, but stand and watch. I was the one he sent to turn the water on and off at the street) I gave him the check $275.00 thinking the job was complete (he asked for cash, but I was not about to do that, he gave no invoice or any kind of paperwork for the job). So to repair my leaking toilets I shut off the 2 valves that supply the toilets and went to town to run errands, when I returned about 4 hours later, I went to the meter by the street and saw the meter still running meaning that the toilets were not the problem. I went to each toilet and saw the tanks were still full and did not leak down. This is something that should have done by them, not me! I got my son in law to get under the house and take pictures and video of water still leaking down where the plumber cut the insulation out. There is no way he did not see this leak, he just wanted to collect money and leave without cleaning up the mess and completing the repairs as he was paid to do. I know the proper thing to do is give him a chance to come back and complete the job, but I do not trust him because he lied several times to me and could charge me a crazy price in retaliation for complaining to BBB about his lack of professionalism.
