Air conditioning not working well. Room too warm. Hotel is being renovated currently. Brooke at the desk was very courteous and helpful.

Although the Hampton Inn family has a very consistent experience, this location is struggling. It is undergoing some renovations but it will be hard to address some of the core concerns. It is a very noisy hotel. Noise from other patrons just doing normal things passes easily through the walls and doors. Outdated fixtures and furniture may be addressed in the renovation but parking is a REAL issue. Very very limited and we had to park in other businesses every day of our stay.

I have often enjoyed staying at Hampton Inn throughout the U.S. as a rewards member. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my recent stay at the Birmingham-Pelham (I-65) property. I checked into the property around 9 pm, which is not terribly late and I requested a room on the top floor but was told that one was not available where I expressed that I am a very light sleeper.
I was hoping that things might be okay and so I went up to my room but when I arrived I not only could hear the people stomping above me but I was subjected to the noise of the elevator, which I was placed next to for the night. I called the front desk and requested another room and they told me that the hotel was sold out for the night. I stated that I understood this but perhaps I could be moved into a room that had not yet been occupied. I was told that they were waiting on one other group that had already confirmed their room through the app. Expect, I watched other people come into the hotel after I did - checking into their rooms for the first time.
I was given the option to check out in the morning and then get another room at that time, which meant that I had to solve the issue and not the hotel.
Plain and simple - this is the worst experience I have ever had at a Hampton Inn and as a person on a business trip, I did not rest well at all!
I understand that renovations are taking place but this was a terrible experience from start to finish.
