Okay everyone please read this. Well looking through the photos people has shared. I noticed what appeared to be a four or five foot long snake. And not just any snake. This is a canebrake rattlesnake or timber rattlesnake. Canebrake and timber rattlers are the same snake people just call them different names. Now rattlesnakes have neuro toxin venom instead of just plain hematoxin. Neurotoxin is what the king cobra and the coral snake has. Used to the hemotoxin was stronger in rattlesnakes than their neurotoxin. But that has changed it seems the neurotoxin venom is taken over and it's way more potent than their hematoxin venom. What does that mean it means if your dog or child gets bitten by timber rattler the area is more than likely going to have to be amputated. Neurotoxin venom is the venom that rots the flesh kills everything in contact with it. Rattlesnakes has neurotoxin and hematoxin venom. But since they're neurotoxin has gotten stronger and more potent it is best to leave the snakes alone don't try to kill them because most snake bites happen when people try to kill or handle the snakes. So what this means if you're waiting in that river and yes it is part of the Flint River it's not a creek. Then you should have snake proof waiters on . There should be no little kids in that area if it is as populated as people are saying hopefully all the snakes will continue to live and hopefully nobody gets bitten. And if anybody gets bitten hopefully it's an adult because if it's a child or a pet medical care will have to be administrated right away so hopefully no kids or no pets will get bitten. With that being said if you do not know how to identify every venomous snake that is native to Alabama Tennessee Georgia and Mississippi I suggest you doing a snake identification and education group on Facebook or wherever and educate yourself on snakes that way if anybody ever gets bit you can identify what bit them Y'all be safe remember snake lives matter. Have fun but be careful and please do not let little kids Roam around on the rocks with timber Rattlers been known to be in that area
