New Hope Buildings

Though clearly stated in our contract that the deposit was non-refundable, we have had several unforeseen life changes this past year that made building it impossible. Hoping for some grace and understanding, I approached Joy and Justin to request consideration of a refund. The first time Joy stated understanding and responded with compassion that she would call the company and see if she could work something out. She said she would call me by the end of the day. She didn't and one week went by. I went back into the office. I spoke with Justin and Joy, who admitted she hadn't called the company. Justin said that he would call, and asked if I would accept a partial refund if that was offered. I said of course. He said he would call within the week. Another week goes by. I call Eagle Carports directly. Turns out, they don't get deposit funds from New Hope Buildings. They didn't have to call anybody. New Hope Buildings keeps the deposit funds and has sole discretion to refund or not refund it. So for three weeks they strung me along about "calling the company" knowing full well it was their decision and they were not giving it back. When I confronted them and asked why they didn't level with me up front instead of giving me false hope Joy responded with insults and contempt. They seemed super nice and helpful up front, nice family business. They sure showed their true colors today. They were under no obligation to refund our deposit, but I do believe they had an ethical responsibility to own their decision and tell the truth. As it is, they scored some pretty easy money and only have their consciences to deal with.

We hired them to build us a pole barn and handle all the details, They Hired a subcontractor to do the work subcontractor showed up without the heavy equipment needed to do the work had to assist the contractor in doing the work. We thought we were paying them to handle oversee and inspect the project which they did not. And had to supply our own equipment to assist the subcontractor. And did not even compensate us for our time and use of our equipment.

Joy and Justin were happy to answer all my questions, responded very fast to my request for information at the outset, got the job done fast, and built a great looking building for me. I know the product and I know the people. I have never had issues with either. You cannot go wrong with them!
