I paid Adam 3 times to diagnose and repair my engine. The 4th time I have the text message history that lasted 67 days of promises to repair my car. Adam finally stopped texting and would not answer my calls. Another shop repaired the problem. I gave the repair bill to Adam and gave him the opportunity to make it right, he refused. I would warn everyone to avoid doing business with Adam. Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I have a 1956 Chevy 3100 and I have to say, this experience dealing with 431 Automotive was not pleasant at all. During our first contact, the owner assured me that the mechanics could handle the job and that they had recently re-built a 56 Chevy 3100 engine. When we met with the mechanics, we told them the issues (Carburetor, marker light, drivers door handle, dash gauge and a small oil leak). They assured me they could fix it all. I also stressed how the truck had not been wet / dirty since its re-build in 2013 and how we wanted it kept indoors. When we picked it up the first time they told me the carburetor was fixed, all the engine gaskets had been replaced (leak fixed), marker light fixed and emergency brake fixed. They did say they hadnt gotten the part for the door yet so it was not fixed. At pick up, the truck was filthy (clearly had sat outside), wouldnt start and died on the way home. They did pick us up and tow the truck to the house. When they dropped us off they said they would pick up the truck the following week and repair it for free (being we already paid $400 to $500 for the repairs). That week it sat in our garage we discovered the oil leak was now much worse than before. When they picked up the truck we told them about the leak. The assured me it would be corrected and implied the truck would be finished in a week or two. I was also told it would be kept indoors at a different location. After two weeks I started calling about the status of my vehicle over the next 8 weeks I was lied to or told something different every day (its fixed ready tomorrow, carburetor is now leaking, be ready tomorrow, I think its done, let me check with the mechanics, it will be delivered today, delivered tomorrow, etc..) When I finally get it back, the truck is filthy dirty everywhere (mud and dirt in the interior, the exterior, the engine bay, the top of the engine has mud on itit has a dead battery). But even worse, the truck has two paint chips on the drivers door (that I know 100% were not there before) it also has scratches on the front passenger fender (looks like it was scratched either while working on it or jumping it (battery is in that corner). No idea how Im going to fix this issue being the paint is custom and was painted several years ago. So to be honest, Im extremely upset with the entire deal. Im also assuming the oil leak will still be present. Ill know in a few days when I check under the truck. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with an automotive repair shop.

Bought a used truck from this dealership that had a few problems that needed to be fixed, the turbo was leaking exhaust and causing a lag in acceleration, the body mount bushings were rotted out, and the side view mirror needed to be fixed or replaced. At first the owner stated he would fix them no issue at no cost to me. The truck was in the shop for 2 months and the communication was terrible. The time to do the work wasn't the issue, but instead I must have been told a dozen times that it would be done that day only to have it moved 2 days, then more, until it was clear that it wasn't going to be done and we'd move on to the next round of promises. When I finally got the truck back, I was told that the turbo was refurbished and had no more lag, the body mount bushings were replaced, and the side view mirror parts were on their way in and I could drop off the following week to have that fixed. Before picking it up the owner asked me to pay for a portion of it after being told he'd cover it, when I reminded him he relented. I get it home and find out the body mount bushings weren't swapped, the turbo still has lag, and so I asked to just get the parts to fix it myself not wanting to have it back in the shop for months to which he agreed. That began the back and forth of unmet promises and long periods of no contact. I've bought the parts myself and I'm doing the repairs. Would not recommend 431 Automotive to anyone.
