I'm disappointed in the front house management and staff of this office. This is very upsetting because I liked my nurse and my therapist Dalton has helped me more than anyone has ever within a short time. Sadly, the staff you have to deal with when you first arrive or call are not worth coming here. I have had multiple issues within the few months of going. They are dismissive and have been rude.I came here because I am having tough problems, not to be met with more. It had been hard for me to reach out, to ask for help and come in. I wanted to make steps forward but IBH Muscle Shoals has reminded me why I do not.I am continuing my process with other doctors, which is tough when dealing with mental health issues. I know in the long run it will be worth it.Save yourself the trouble, and find somewhere else. I hope the nurses and therapists that do the good work there find a better place to share their gifts and knowledge. The front staff is ruining it for you.

This practice lied to us about taking our insurance, and consistently charged us late fees for appointment times we were on time for (standing in line waiting for the office staff counts as not on time). The office manager openly mocks patients and lies about calling patients back and forwarding them to billing. The worst was when after a series of cancellations due to my physical health, they told me theyd need to talk to my counselor to see if she would continue working with me. I accepted this consequence, but I kept calling back to see if they had made a decision, never got any callbacks. When I finally got a hold of them, my counselor had left, and IBH immediately dropped me as a patient. It was clear they had waited until I had no advocate to drop me. I relied on them for medication management, too, and was not allowed to continue working with the doctor to get my meds. The ensuing months were hell, I had a seriously dangerous reaction to being pulled off lamictal with no notice. I loved my counselor, Julie, and Drs. Victoria and Chou changed my life with their support. I wish the office staff was better trained in how to do their jobs with a vulnerable population.

So, let me tell you about Integrated Behaviorial Health Muscle Shoals, Alabama.  I made an appointment for my daughter about 2 months ago.  We struggled to get in to see them for weeks, which was on me not them, because of illness.  Once we arrived on our appointment date, we waited 40 minutes to see the doctor.  The visit with the doctor was perfect and I felt hopeful.  I was super happy and grateful that finally my child would get quality help.  We scheduled another appointment for 2 weeks later.  I had to drive my husband to work the same morning of the appointment and I called to let them know 3 times (no one answered the phone) and arrived for the appointment 5 minutes late.  They refused to see us.  Charged me $50.00.  I paid it, right then at the desk.  Made another two appointments one for the Nurse Practitioner and one for the doctor.  Unfortunately, I had to cancel, car was sent to the shop and I knew it would be there the following week and so after finding that out,  I called IBH Muscle Shoals daily,  starting on Thursday and left a voicemail message, called again on Friday, left a voicemail message, and Saturday, leaving another voicemail message.  On Monday, I get a phone call from one of their employees to confirm our appointment on Tuesday and Thursday of that week.  I explained to her (D.....le)  her name protected for privacy sake that I had left numerous messages the week before to let them know we couldn't make it.  She said she would check the voicemails.  My gut told me should wouldn't follow through.  Guess what, apparently, she didn't just as I suspected.  Today on 3/4/23, I get a bill in the mail for $50 with "No sho" in the comments.  What first of all, spell the word show correctly and secondly, wth?  What is wrong with you people there at IBH.  This is ludicrous.  I never in a million years expected this type of service from such a high dollar facility that is supposed to have such quality staff.  Never have I been charged $50.00 while I am standing right there in the office after only being 5 minutes late.  Never would I have dreamed, after calling numerous times to cancel and reschedule and on top of that speaking directly to someone from your office (who called me I might add) would I get charged another $50.00 even after I made it clear to your staff that we would not be able to make it there.  I was explicitly clear about both appointments.  There is no way you could have missed that.  No way!  You're wrong.  You're dishonest.  Either you are scamming people or you could really care less about what your lack of professionalism does to people. God help those who need your help prayerfully they will find somewhere else to go where they can be treated with respect. No one should ever have to be worried about you not checking your messages and being charged a ridiculous amount of money when they have followed your guidelines.  This is very concerning to me and should be to any one who is considering scheduling appointments with you.  So when a patient has to cancel will they have to stress out about whether or not they will get charged because of you failing to get their messages or not answering your phone?  How many times does a patient have to call to get some one from your office to answer the phone or for you to get their voicemails? My daughter will be the one who suffers the most because she finally found a doctor that she connected with and felt like could help her.  I'm disgusted with how you treated us.  Heaven forbid, how many others?  How many?  Hopefully, not many because I will tell everybody I know every chance I get and will never refer anybody there to be treated this way. This type of thing needs to stop. Again, the doctor was wonderful!  Its a shame that the office staff is ridiculously incompetent.  You should at least have the decency to check your voicemails, return people's calls when they ask you to so you don't get nasty reviews like I felt compelled to write on a Saturday afternoon. I am deeply disappointed and greatly saddened because we truly needed your help.
