April 24th 2020 I was deployed and had my 2007 R1 shipped from Florida to Stedman Motorsports for an engine build and a turbo. Bike was in running condition with complete fairings and a check for $8500.00. Projected completion time was 4-6 months which would have landed around November/December 2020 when I was due to return back to the U.S. Safe to say it was NOT completed by that time, so we agreed to add some more onto the build as I felt it was near completion and waiting a little longer wouldn't be that big of a deal. I sent an additional check for $2000.00 I then got the run around for the next 2 years, ignoring my texts/calls/ and emails. I then went to pickup the bike in April of 2023, I brought home a frame with an engine, an evil swing arm, boxes of parts, and about 2/3rds of my fairings, and about 20% of my fasteners. I paid an additional $1400.00 on that day. Would you believe that he allowed me to keep a plastic bin to hold all of my parts and that he was not going to charge me for the engine oil he had put into the engine. Which fortunately saved me because about 3/4 of the oil leaked out all over the bed of my truck during the 13 hour drive home. My absolute train wreck of a motorcycle is currently at another shop in St Pete Florida and come to find out, nothing that was fabricated for it lines up as the header was finger tight while everything was fabricated so now I must pay another shop to redo/modify everything so it can even be put together. Furthermore, the Evil Swing arm is not the correct arm for my motorcycle and I do not have any receipt or documentation to exchange it for the proper one. All in all, I would advise against doing anything with this shop. Jay single handedly destroyed my dream bike build that I paid good hard earned money for. I paid a grand total of $11,900.00 and wasted 3 years of my life for this shop to lose my hardware, fairing, the wrong swing arm, soak my truck bed in oil, a turbo system that doesn't fit together and who else knows what other problems I am going to encounter down this seemingly endless road of obstacles. Over all bad experiences, Jay has actually left false reviews on my company even though Ive never worked on anything for him, installed my clutch backwards and didnt install new spark plugs and Id highly suggest not using his company to have work done , the turbo system wasent to bad but overall bad experience
