image Poor business practices. We spoke on the phone and discussed the cancellation of an appointment I had, due to the fact that she would be recovering from surgery. When I called later to "officially" cancel the appointment (which I thought was overkill, since we discussed it, and since she said she'd be out), she charged me a $50 fee for not cancelling 24 hours in advance. I tried discussing it with her, but she was immovable on collecting the fee. Go to her if you want to, but I would stay away from this one.

image Linda helped me to search pretty fearlessly within, then step into the heart of a decades long hurt, and find my way through it to new ground. I also had an amazing EMDR experience!
She is wonderful, I refer people to her who ask if I can recommend anyone. I highly recommend Linda!

image I've known Linda Holmberg for approximately one year now and would highly recommend her. She provides counseling and therapy services for a wide range of issues, but specializes in several treatments, such as EMDR Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy,
This career is perfect for her - she is very much a people person, has great compassion and is professional and highly qualified.

image I met Linda at a workshop for licensed professional counselors and therapists. She introduced me to EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing). I was very impressed with her specialized training and extensive knowledge of EMDR and its treatment potential for those suffering from PTSD and other trauma related disorders. I am not a client of hers, but I highly recommend getting in touch with her if you're in need of this counseling or therapy service, as there are not many LPCs qualified in this field in Alabama.

image I have known Linda Holmberg for almost 3 years now and I can honestly say she is one of the most caring, compassionate, understanding, and empathetic people I have ever known. I started seeing her in 2011 after the death of my grandmother, who was my heart and soul. I am actually a Funeral Director and Embalmer and I guess I am used to sort of detaching myself from grief so that I can do my job to the best of my ability and help facilitate the grieving process of the family I am helping. But, when my grandmother passed I was simply lost. I was stuck in the grieving process and was unable to move through it and move forward. It became so bad that I could barely function and it took all I had just to get through the day. I went from my bed to the couch and back to the bed. I withdrew from everyone and everything and nothing made me happy. And if something started to make me happy, I would tend to scold myself because I was "supposed" to be sad and I did not want to "be happy" without my grandmother. I was in a very deep dark place and didn't know how to fix it.
Finally, I realized that my grandmother was the one that passed but I was the one that was not living anymore! I needed to move through the grieving process and accept the fact that she had passed and she would not want me to live like this whatsoever! So, I decided that I needed to see a grief counselor. That is when Linda Holmberg entered into my life and literally gave me my life back! She is simply amazing. She knows when to listen and she knows when to advise you. It wasn't the stereotypical therapy session that I was expecting. The one we always see on TV, lie back on the couch and tell me how you "feel." She "GUIDES" you gently through the process but let's you take the lead so to speak.
She has a way of reading your body language as well. So, if there is something really bothering or stressing you or if you are hesitant to say something she knows and helps you understand what is going on and helps you process it. It's amazing how she notices things that you don't even realize you're doing like holding your breath or rapidly breathing or shrinking down your shoulders or tensing up or whatever.
We did some EMDR therapy as well and I believe she is the only therapist around that does that. And it is great for people that have had a traumatic event in their life. If you read up on that kind of therapy it is amazing the studies and results that they have done.
I went from constantly crying in my sessions to just a little crying and even some laughing. Linda literally brought me back to life. And then we began to work on other issues that I have in my life. Linda is really just a huge blessing in my life and if it weren't for her I would still be in that deep dark place. It is clearly evident that she LOVES what she does and it is her TRUE calling in life! If you are having issues with depression, grief, anxiety, PTSD, marital issues, stress or anything that is affecting your daily life and ability to enjoy your life please take an hour for yourself each week to see Linda. It was the best hour in my entire week and I felt a huge weight off of my shoulders after each appointment. I apologize that this review was so long but it was just impossible to explain all that Linda has done for me in just a few sentences! Make an appointment and please don't wait as long as I did to seek help!
