Bar B Quing With My Honey

I came here for the first time on Thursday. It was a little awkward at first because I wasn't sure where to sit. The staff said to come on in when I was lingering near the door. The food was delicious! I got the pulled pork dinner with baked beans and mac n cheese. I also got banana pudding for dessert. I'm glad that it was in a to-go container already because I took it home and enjoyed it later because I was full from my meal. I'm glad I decided to try this restaurant for myself even after reading mixed reviews about it.

We had ribs, baked beans and potato salad. The ribs were so tender that we could pull them right off the bone. We also got the fish and grits. Fish was nice and crispy, just the way I like it and the grits were creamy. Portion size was excellent and there was enough to have some to take home. My wife had been wanting to try BBQing with My Honey for some time now. We arrived at about 3:15 on a Saturday afternoon and were seated promptly. There was a couple of occupied tables and some folks sitting at the bar so they werent busy. Our waitress took our orders in a timely fashion and the food arrived in about ten or fifteen minutes. I ordered the three meat and two side platter and my wife ordered a side of ribs with Okra and Collard Greens. My three meats were Chicken, Sausage and pulled Pork. Judging by the number of stars stated above, no one will be surprised to find out we were very disappointed. My chicken thigh was easily the driest Ive have ever had in my 57 years of existence. The pulled pork on my plate was the perfect appropriate accompaniment of dryness. The sausage wasnt bad but its hard to screw that up. My wife also found her ribs to be very dry as well. Positives included the collards and mac and cheese which were flavorful. Overall, I would say BBQing would rate dead last of 6 or 7 BBQ restaurants Ive critiqued in the greater Mobile area. Besides the lack of quality in the meats, our food was Luke warm at best and the tables and the floors were dirty. Our waitress was nice and attentive without overdoing it but sadly, she wasnt enough to pull a decent score for our experience. Save yourself the disappointment, drive past BBQing with My Honey and choose from Mobiles wealth of BBQ restaurants.
