Pastor Jamie and many people in the congregation are great, but this church has lots of hypocrites. Its mostly white neoliberal atheists with no understanding of cultural relativism. The fact that they havent publicly denounced zionism is so embarrassing. The beliefs and values of Unitarian Universalism are superb, but lots of people in this congregation cannot respect the 4th principle: a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. They are fine with kids believing in zodiac signs and healing crystals, but openly believing in God is frowned upon hereeven if you have no intention of trying to change others. While I understand that many people in the congregation come from backgrounds that put them off from religion, being mistreated by pious individuals is never an excuse to criticize and assign intentions to people who think differently from you. This congregation seriously needs to address their hostility towards religion. It is the only way they will truly be able to embrace intersectionality and stay true to their values. I do love how this church has a little food pantry and helps people in need. I admire that they put their money and time where their mouth is. Not many organized religious groups do that these days. I do not write this review with intentions of trying to cause tension in the church or hurt anyones feelings. This congregation has so much potential and I honestly wish them the best.
