I am disappointed with my experience here. My biggest issue with this place is by far the obvious pushing of the Christian agenda. * I have no ill will towards anyone who is Christian*. I have a degree in religious studies and Im personally not religious. When the Nurse Practitioner doing my consultation asked me if I was I simply said no. No harm no foul. Believe in whatever you like. I wasnt even bothered by the giant biblical quotes or prayer encouragement on the walls. To each their own, everyone has their own reasonings for what they believe. Mental Health is a hard thing-I didnt feel any type of way at first about it. This is Alabama after all. What I had a HUGE problem with was after I said no to the religious question she then writes down a Christian missionary counseling center for me to try therapy at. One that specializes in therapeutic conversion using Christianity. After I told her I wasnt religious in the first place. My advice: theres legal separation between church and state for a reason. Stop obviously pushing the agenda. And as far as the purpose of my time there- I didnt even qualify for TMS. A horrifically abusive relationship, a dying parent, and bottles of meds later and it still didnt matter. Essentially you have to have had enough years of trying medications and therapy that dont work in order to get TMS. It needs to be the last option literally. Which is very sad and more than telling of how we handle mental health as a society. I shouldnt have to wait a few more years to try something that can help me now.
The only positive was the clean, organized office space and very kind front desk lady.

Dr. Hayden and the entire office staff were totally focused on getting me better and made me feel welcome the entire time. I am very thankful to everyone at TMS Huntsville for helping me start living again.
