Appliance Masters Repair Service

First, I called to schedule an appointment time for after 4:00pm, because I wasnt available until then. The repair person calls me at 3:00pm and asks me if I can be available now. I said I cannot, and he says, well, I guess I can try to be there later then I arrive to my home at 4:25pm, and see that he is parked two houses down. I get out of my truck and he parks behind me, within inches of my bumper. I instruct him that there is plenty of space beside my vehicle in my driveway and to please park there. He comes inside and takes a look at my washing machine. Now, I may be a woman but I do know my way around a machine or two. He proceeds to tell me that the washing machine needs a new hose that goes from the tub to the pump. And that it would cost me $360 for parts and labor. I thought to myself, I could buy a new washing machine for that! So I declined the service. He priced me a new barrel for my dryer as well which was the same price as the quote for the washing machine, minus labor costs. I thanked him and he left. I stood in the doorway of my laundry room and became frustrated. I went in and looked behind the machine and noticed the panel was still off, screws on the floor. He couldnt even put it back together. Oh well, I thought. Ill take a look. I tipped the machine back as he had done earlier and to my complete surprise, there was nothing wrong with the hose. In fact, the hose was in great condition. I poked around the area where the pump was and found the issue. The pump had a screw missing and there was a section of it that was not seated into itself properly, which was where the water was dumping from. I thought to myself, this is so obvious for me and I dont do these kinds of repairs! How did he miss this?!? I didnt call him back. In fact, I felt so uncomfortable that I decided to just take a look and see if it was something I could fix. I unhooked the hoses, took the pump out and realized it was missing a screw. So I looked and saw one underneath the machine. I cleaned the pump, put everything back together and turned it on. It works now. I fixed it. I paid $70 for a man who stunk like cigarettes to come tell me that it was $360 worth of repair costs when it could have been avoided had he taken another ten minutes to see what the issue really was. Just reading the responses from the owner on reviews that were less than satisfactory convinces me never to call or hire this company. Words have consequences. This guy may or may not be a good service tech but needs to learn how to communicate with people professionally.

When our washer broke down, we contacted them. It was corrected within an hour after they arrived. Excellent customer service and pleasant dealings.
