I went to this Dr bc my insurance changed and I had to pick a new Dr, I chose him bc my dad was a patient, should have know better since my dad died in his care. Immediately wants to take me off meds I've been on most of my life, literally tells me to go get another Dr to write those and he will do these ones he wants to. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 3 years ago, at the time my a1c was almost 10, I just got a call getting chewed out about a 6.1 a1c, BTW that's pre-diabetic doc. Just a weirdo. Update this moron actually screwed all of my meds up and caused actual damage. Do not use him.

Avoid this doctor! I only went to him because he was the only one in my area for my insurance. I am a diabetic. Not only was he rude, poor beside manner, threatened to cancel him as my doctor because my A1C was always high-yet offered no advice as to HOW i reduce it(had to research it myself)constantly talking down to me about my weight (which i lost thanks to a better dr) yet offering no help in losing it other 'stop eating so much', has shaky hands, tried to draw mt blood and shook so much he hurt me and had to have a nurse do it. He needs to retire.

Dr. Vahkaria is one of the best internal medicine physicians I have ever had the pleasure of being a patient with. He has guided me through a plethora of treatments for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, etc., and has prescribed the most efficient medicines to alleviate and treat my symptoms. He is a total professional in his medical field and should be regarded as one of the absolute top doctors in North Alabama and the Tennessee Valley. His administrative medical staff are also top notch -- especially Patty and EdWanna!!

The office is well run, employees are very pleasant and helpful. I could not be more pleased with the care I received from Dr. Vakharia and his office.
